What are Glycolic & Hyaluronic Acids?

Hello everyone..

Okay, so today, as you can tell from the title is a bit of a explanation post.
I got an email recently on what these acids are, and because the word "ACID" really sticks out, people get afraid and think OMG I could never use an acid on my face.

So here I will TRY! describe what they are...

So lets start with the Glycolic Acid. Glycolic Acid is a colorless, odorless and hygrospoic crystalline solid, which is highly soluble in water.

Glycolic Acid is derived from sugar can and is natural, but synthetically made. It is part of a set of ingredients which are called AHA`s, or Alpha Hydroxy.
These ingredients are..
Glycolic (Sugar cane)
Lactic (Milk)
Citric (Oranges and Lemons)
Malic (Apples and Pears)
Tartaric (Grapes)

Gylcolic can be found in numerous skincare products.
One popular use in an exfoliator. which saftely removes outer dead skin cells on the surface of the skin and brings the skin layer to the surface.
Its very beneficial in other ways too, like in the anti aging area and also to lighten discoloration like sun spots, age spot and acne prone skin.

You can get Glycolic Acid in numerous forms like Facial cleansers, serums, moisturisers, eye creams and face peels. Which you choose is up to you.

So what about the Hyaluronic Acid? Hyaluronic Acid is a substance used in conjunction with Vitamin C products aka glycosaminoglycam. (long word!)
Touted for the ability to reverse and stop the effects of aging. Also known as the "Key to the foundation of youth"!

The substace is naturally found in humans and animals. The components of the connective tissue become wrinkle preventing ingredients.
You can find Hyaluronic Acid in Moisturisers, Eye Creams and Serums.

I really hope this helped in some way helped you understand these acids. They are perfectly safe to use, but if you are Allergic to them ,stay away from them.
If you have any questions please let me know, or if you have used either Glycolic or Hyaluronic Acids?

Weekend Inspiration....PINK!

Hello Ladies,

This weeks Weekend Inspiration is PINK!
The holy grail of all girly girls and BARBIE!
But we are not going BARBIE today!

Pink is one of many of my favourite colours, but alot of people when they hear pink, think that acid pink aka Barbie pink! But there is so many shades and depth of pink colours. Whether you like dark, bright, matte, neon, glossy, mauve, fuschia. There is a pink for YOU! Yes You!

So here is just some inspiration if you wanna wear PINK this weekend!

Pretty pretty color! pink outfit, clothes fashion dress sundress style
image from pintrest

I love the coral pink skirt in this picture tied in with the pink flowers on the cream top. Paired with the woven belt, it looks girly but not in your face. It would be lovely for a sunday lunch or day out with the girls or a loved one. Simple but still stands out.

Navy Pink Outfit Loving the dress- the necklace not so much But I did find the store that sells them!!
image pintrest

I love the way how this explains that you can wear pink and still pack a statement without it being over the top. A striped navy nautical dress, woven belt and PINK statement neck piece all shine in there own way but the necklace adds the perfect accessorie and how to do it.

Anyone who knows me knows I hate pink. But the fact that these converse are cute may convince me otherwise
image pintrest

If like me you love your flats, trainers, runner or converse and more of a relaxed look. Teamed with a t-shirt and skinnys or a t-shirt dress, pink converse are a nice pop of colour and for comfort are ideal and still look trendy.

Hot pink pop! #lips #beauty #makeup
image pintrest

Now and again i love a statement lip. Paired with a simply subtle smokey eye or a flick liner, a pink lip can simply be just enough. You can go as neon, matte, dark, bright or glossy as you like. I own endless pinks and on an occasion I break them out!

Top 5 Lip Balms

Hey There!

If like me you own endless amounts of lip balms, whether in your handbag, in the car, under the bed or in your makeup bag.

To me lip balms are as important as a moisturiser for your face. They contain there own moisture, norishing benefits and contains a Spf.

Broken lips are fairly common during the Winter, especially here in Ireland.:)
By using that lip balm you are sealing and adding a protected layer against the weather. It will also sooth and help recover the chappiness.

Lip balm is also important during the summer, with an Spf in it, it will protect your lips from the suns UVA/UVB rays.

I will also use it before I apply any makeup, just to prep my lips and eliminate any dryness (which I suffer from so much :(....)
It will allow your lippy and gloss to glide on and look beautiful!! ;)

So here it is my TOP 5 LIP BALMS!

5. Burts Bees €7.95

(Image from google search)

4. Korres Lip Butter €7.50

3. No 7 BB Lips €11.95

2. Bami, €6.79

(*) Review.. W7 Aye Aye Captain Liquid Liner

Hello There!

So before I start, I was sent this product and I am giving my honest opinion. If you do not like these reviews you can click the X now.

But if you do, then Hello! Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday! :)

I was giving a chance to try and test some W7 products and wanted to give my 2 cents on what I thought of the W7 Aye Aye Captain Very Black Liquid Liner.

So what did I really think? Hmmmm??!!!

I quiet liked it, especially for a low end and cheap liner.
I find some low end liquid liner flake and irritate my eyes and dry funny.
Honestly this didnt.

The packaging was sleek and neat, great for on the go.

The long handle allowed me to have great control over the tip.
The nib is tapered and pointed and is quiet firm, which may agree with some and not others. T be honest I like a firm nib as it gives me way better control and a good line.

The pigment is defiantly black and opaque. Which it great for such a bargain liner. Does not flake or come away. I tested this out over 3 days and it lasted over 6 hours, which in my books is a great thing. The liquid is light, but a great constancy.  It also dried quick, which if you are in a rush is a good thing.

I do feel this will make a great beginner liner, whether your 14 or 40. If you want to master the flick liner, try this liner as you can practice till your hearts content and your not breaking the bank. The handle and the nib will also help the control and guidance of the line.

This product is about €4-€4.50 and is so worth a try.

Weekend Inspiration #2......WHITE

Hey there!

Another start to the weekend.

Another weekend inspiration, this week I choose White.
Another great staple, for your wardrobe.

Whether, its that white dress (not the wedding dress, lol), a pair of white jeans or white jewelry, as like black it goes with everything.

So, here I will share an outfit, accessories and a makeup look all white inspired.
Whether you wear it all together or choose one piece, all can be versatile.

White jumpsuit. Ysl purse. Casadei Red Leather Pointed Toe Court Shoes
image from pintrest

Instead, of a dress I choose a white jumpsuit, which can be relaxed with a denim jacket and wedges or formal and great for an occasion or party with coloured heels and a blazer or on its own with some jewelry. A nice change from a dress.

Matte Gold finish Orchid Trio Flower charm and Crystal White Swarovski Pearls Bridal Necklace
image from pintrest

Pearls are the ultimate White piece of jewelry. A classic piece, great with a little black lace dress or anything vintage. Something that will last forever.

  Kork-Ease 'Hailey' Wedge Sandal | Nordstrom #DressOnABudget

I love white wedges, especially with denim jeans. I think they really pop.
Incase you are afraid of coloured shoes, then white might be a great way to dip your toe in the waters.

Strong Brows are in, love the dark brow with the white liner for a completely contrasted look.
image from pintrest

White makeup can be hard to pull off, as it looks icy and can really be unflattering. But just using it as a liner or in the waterline to open up the eyes can just be enough to make an impact. If you have a smokey eye and a white liner inside the water line can make a statement.

So ladies please tell me what you thought of my Weekend inspiration picks. Have you seen last weeks. Last weeks was BLACK.

Autumn/Winter Trends 2014/2015..Part 2

Hello Ladies,

So here is Part 2 of Autumn/Winter Trends 14/15.
In this post there will be my last six picks of this seasons trends.

If you wanna see Part 1 >>CLICK HERE<<

So I suppose I better get on with it, lol.

Here are my last Six picks!

Blue

Blue is making a comeback from the 90s, and will make a effective impression.
Designers that used blue, had their own interpretation of it.
Christian Dior had a more Glittery finish, Marchesa used rounded strips on the outline of the lid and Cynthia Rowley used another trend in arrows.

Cynthia Rowley

Pink

Pink can look inflamed on the face, especially if pale. But it is a great alternative for a fresh and different look. Some designers have used pink in a smokey eye, so it appears more subtle.
Both Julian McDonald and Jonathan Saunders used pink in their runway.

Lilac

A new colour to the trends is Lilac. A uber impressive and chic colour. Lilac is a new and is going to be fun colour to use and create with.
Chloe and Diane von Furstenbeary are some designers that used Lilac in their collections.

Brows

Not really a suprise that brows are in this seasons trends. They keep poping up and quiet similar to last season, thick, full and expressive brows are still in.
Dion Less, Marc Jacobs and Givency are designers that expressed the brows in their collections.

Marc Jacobs

Berry-Cherry Lips

Bloody red lip shades seem to be making there way out this season, but other tones are making there way in. Berry, rosy shades along with bordeaux and other tones of red are going to be huge this season. Rebecca Minkoff went red with there tones and Marc Jacobs with a more natural tone.

Metallic

My last pick of the trends, which will be big I feel near the Christmas season, that is metallics.  Eye catching and chic. Alot of designers created there own vision of metallics.
Rodarte used bronxe lips, Badgley Mischka used golds, Donna Karen used Silvers and Altuzzarra used glittery effects.

So ladies, that has been my picks from the Autumn/Winter 14/15.
