Party Inspiration for Paperless Post

Hello There!

Was contacted by the lovely Katie from Paperless post to do an inspiration post for a party. Paperless post are a great online website to create the perfect invitations for either a Birthday, Weddings, Baby Showers and any other occasion that needs catering for. When I was asked to create an inspiration post for a party, I had so many ideas. So I choose to pick a party I would love myself. Creating that perfect Girls Night In essentially but with a party twist. Perfect if you want a BBQ or celebrating your Birthday or Hen during the summer months. 

"Morocco"

I really love the colours & decor of Moroccan themed items. So I thought it might be perfect. The colours are perfect for an early or late summer party. It really gives you that warm feeling even when the weather isnt great outside.

Colour Palette:

The colour palette I just love. The combination of light and bright pinks, peaches, yellows, oranges, purples and golds. Their is something really indulgent about the colours and the fact they all complement each other. Through patterns and block colouring you could fit all colours into one item.  

Decor.

Decor is so vast. Starting with textures and materials, silk and satin comes to mind along with sequin details. Whether you are drapping the fabrics over chair or tables the vibrant colours really bring in warmth. Combining pinks, golds and oranges in different patterns is a great way to break up block colours and also adding more demension. 

Lanterns are another part of the decor. I love them and i have a few scattered around my room as I love the look. You can just focus on the pattern itself or get some with coloured glass that fits your themed colours.  I think I will stop typing and just allow you to enjot the patterns and colours.:) I really think it brings it all together. 

If you cannot afford to get new lanterns, then DIY is great. Get a mason jar or jam jar, glass painting items, which you can get in any art shop. And design your own. It something worth while and something that you can get the look without splashing out. But still gives you the right look. 

I am so annoyed I have no event to plan so I can use this theme. But when looking into your invitation. Maybe look at the colours so pick 3. Maybe a background colour in Pink with a pattern in gold and writing in purple. The colour combo is endless. Take inspiration from either cushions or lanterns or fabrics to tie in your look. 

I think it would make a great girly night for Hens, Birthdays etc..

Weekend Inspiration....PINK!

Hello Ladies,

This weeks Weekend Inspiration is PINK!

The holy grail of all girly girls and BARBIE!

But we are not going BARBIE today!

Pink is one of many of my favourite colours, but alot of people when they hear pink, think that acid pink aka Barbie pink! But there is so many shades and depth of pink colours. Whether you like dark, bright, matte, neon, glossy, mauve, fuschia. There is a pink for YOU! Yes You!

So here is just some inspiration if you wanna wear PINK this weekend!

I love the coral pink skirt in this picture tied in with the pink flowers on the cream top. Paired with the woven belt, it looks girly but not in your face. It would be lovely for a sunday lunch or day out with the girls or a loved one. Simple but still stands out.

I love the way how this explains that you can wear pink and still pack a statement without it being over the top. A striped navy nautical dress, woven belt and PINK statement neck piece all shine in there own way but the necklace adds the perfect accessorie and how to do it.

If like me you love your flats, trainers, runner or converse and more of a relaxed look. Teamed with a t-shirt and skinnys or a t-shirt dress, pink converse are a nice pop of colour and for comfort are ideal and still look trendy.

Now and again i love a statement lip. Paired with a simply subtle smokey eye or a flick liner, a pink lip can simply be just enough. You can go as neon, matte, dark, bright or glossy as you like. I own endless pinks and on an occasion I break them out!

Autumn/Winter Trends 2014/2015..Part 2

Hello Ladies,

So here is Part 2 of Autumn/Winter Trends 14/15. 

In this post there will be my last six picks of this seasons trends.

Here are my last Six picks!

Blue

Blue is making a comeback from the 90s, and will make a effective impression. 

Designers that used blue, had their own interpretation of it.

Christian Dior had a more Glittery finish, Marchesa used rounded strips on the outline of the lid and Cynthia Rowley used another trend in arrows.

Pink

Pink can look inflamed on the face, especially if pale. But it is a great alternative for a fresh and different look. Some designers have used pink in a smokey eye, so it appears more subtle. 

Both Julian McDonald and Jonathan Saunders used pink in their runway.

Lilac

A new colour to the trends is Lilac. A uber impressive and chic colour. Lilac is a new and is going to be fun colour to use and create with. 

Chloe and Diane von Furstenbeary are some designers that used Lilac in their collections.

Brows

Not really a suprise that brows are in this seasons trends. They keep poping up and quiet similar to last season, thick, full and expressive brows are still in. 

Dion Less, Marc Jacobs and Givency are designers that expressed the brows in their collections.

Berry-Cherry Lips

Bloody red lip shades seem to be making there way out this season, but other tones are making there way in. Berry, rosy shades along with bordeaux and other tones of red are going to be huge this season. Rebecca Minkoff went red with there tones and Marc Jacobs with a more natural tone.

Metallic

My last pick of the trends, which will be big I feel near the Christmas season, that is metallics.  Eye catching and chic. Alot of designers created there own vision of metallics.
Rodarte used bronxe lips, Badgley Mischka used golds, Donna Karen used Silvers and Altuzzarra used glittery effects.

Review: Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balms

Hello Girls,

So I bought these two matte balms in early March and feel i have had the time to test and try these out and give my opinion. 

I was a bit skeptical when I was buying these balms, simply because I had tried many before and did not like them one bit. Deciding because I had heard many good reviews on these I would give it ago. 

The two colours I picked up where....

205 Insaissable - this is a "My Lips but Better" medium pink. 

245 Audacious -  Coral Orange

Great colour to dip your toe in the Orange trend...

These are such a easy lip product to wear. Carry it in your bag and apply and off you go, will give a great pop or added something to your makeup. Because they are MATTE, they are surprisingly and comfortably mositurising , which is very unusual. They have a menthol strong scent, so if smelling products or menthol isnt your thing , then steer clear. I really love these for everyday and they add that extra colour to your look that isnt over powering. Perfect for everyday. These come in a glossy lacquer formula aswell, which i havent tried. These have some great shade ranges and are about €17.

Guide to: Concealers & Colour Correctors

Hey Ladies...

Another confusing discussion in makeup is Concealers and Colour Correctors and how to use them. People find them puzzeling and scary especially the colour correctors. 
So I`m just going to run down some helpful tips and a short explaination on how to use these cosmetics. 

So you have an angry Spot/Blemish and you foundation will not cover it. Well spots are usually red toned, and in colour theory we look on the colour wheel. So Green is opposite the colour wheel  and will cancel the red out, but applying green unless necessary (will explain further down) can look grey, so we go to the next best thing Yellow. Yellow is easily blended into the skin and does a great job in canceling out that angry spot/blemish.


Examples of Yellow toned concealers for them spots/blemishes:

If like me sleep can be irregular, have late nights, stress or just suffer with under eye circles naturally then you will want a concealer for this. Unfortunately we cannot use our yellow based ones, as it does not fall that way on the colour wheel . So if you have Blue/Violet under eye circles then you will want  the opposite colour on the wheel which is Pink/Peach/Salmon/Red concealers. These will cancel the Blue/Violet out.

So now those scary colour correctors.......
Which are for what, and where do they go???

Starting with the Green colour corrector, Green is to cancel out any redness. So if you have a high colouring, flush easily or have red acne then using a green corrector over your primer and under your foundation will help cancel the redness out and allow a more neutral and true colour to appear.

So Pink/Peach/Salmon corrector where can i use these? Again like the red/pink based concealers these can be used under the eyes. If you have very pigmented under eye circles then using a straight corrector will help cancel them out. Unsure which shade to go for well, if you are fair skinned then use a salmon tonned corrector, if you are medium skinned then use a peachy tone (this applies to tanned ladies too), and if you are dark skinned then an orange/pink tone is for you.

Finally the strange Purple/Lavender corrector. Where do you use this?? Well purple or lavender correctors  are for ladies that are sallow or yellow skinned, that may look a little dull. Lavender is for brightening the skin. Great from oriental ladies. Its also good for canceling out olive toned bruises.

A great product to have in your makeup bag or as a makeup artist is the Catrice All Round Concealer Palette. I really love this and really handy to have. You get a Light-Medium -Dark concealer and a green and pink colour corrector. Really all the colours a girl needs, unless you require the purple. Saves alot of money aswell.
