Weekend Inspiration..Green

Hello!

So another Thursday and another Inspiration for the weekend!

Green is this weekends colour!

Not just for St.Patricks Day, or for us Irish and is a very wearable colour!
There are endless shades of Green that can be worn and used to create your look!

Plaid + Hunter Green <3...i need this button down. It is so versatile
image from Pintrest

Coming into the colder months, we want something warm but looks cute. So wearing a green jumper and plade shirt underneath really works well together. Whether you are out for a stroll, Sunday lunch or meeting friends, it will keep you warm and still look good. Love this shade also, almost looks Ivy green.

kelly green scarf, chambray and black skinnies. leave the chucks or swap out for flats
image from pintrest

Keeping green as that warm colour for the season. If you are not to fond of the colour or want to try incorporate it into your wardrobe, try a scarf. Great for walking to college or strolling the shops.

Love the color http://glassesdirectly.com Oakley sunglasses for your fashion style! Just $24.88!!!
image pintrest

It is the season for meet ups and nights out and parties, so why not try Green heels?
With a print dress like leopard/cheetah, I really think it looks amazing, but if you are shy of the print try with a tan or black dress.

Emerald....no jewelry needed with this makeup.
images from pintrest

Green can really work in a smokey eye and stand out. I quiet like it on brown/hazel/olive eyes. Really looks gorgeous and stands out.

What do you think of Green! A very under stated colour and not one that gets alot of showing.

If you want to contact me please do!

Keratin and the Steampod, the new hair craze!

Hey Ladies,

So recently I have been finding my hair limp and frazzled and split at the ends. So I went out and bout a Keratin shampoo and deep conditioner from Pennys (Primark). "Review coming soon"

But before this!!

What is Keratin?

Keratin is a protein that forms the main structure of your Skin, Hair and Nails.

What damages Keratin in my hair?

Keratin gets damaged from over washing your hair, too many products, dying your hair and using heated styling tools on your hair. All these can make your hair dry, split, frizzy and uncontrollable.

So as you can see Keratin it quite important for your hairs well being and for yourself to maintain it.

So while I was in Galway, I wanted a Wash and a Blowdry, as I was heading out for a meal with my boyfriend for your 7 years anniversary together . I really wanted to spend less time on my hair , as it takes me ages and spend the time relaxing and getting ready.

I came across Redcats Hair and Beauty Studio in Eyre Square Shopping Centre Galway on the lower level. I spotted the Wash and Blowdry with the Keratin treatment and steampod for €20 and said I would give it a go.

Like normal, I was taken straight to the sink and got my hair washed and then was taken to a seat and had my hair towel dried.
My stylist then added the keratin treatment, which was a cream like product and worked it into my wet/damp hair. The keratin treatment reacts with heat and is sealed with the steam.
She them blow dried my hair and then came the steam pod!

The pod itself is like a large straighteners attached to a water container. My stylist ran the steam pod like any other straightener through my hair.

In the end the finish to me was surprising. My hair was silky, soft, straight and shiney, It was the best treatment I have ever had. I had not expected the outcome and was so happy that night and days after. It really felt like I had my hair cut and felt fresh!

I hear you can get a smaller version of the salon pods, for home use and will be looking about for a good deal, as I want one for my house! I need it! lol

If you see this treatment near you or have tried it please let me know!

If you are in galway pop into redcats and try this treatment or any other offer they have on. They are a great bunch of ladies and make you feel comfortable. They have makeup and nails also in there salon so have a look.

Preping and Minding your skin for the Autumn and Winter..

Hello!

So, we are as I write this into Autumn (Jumping for joy). I love these months. Getting cosy and wrapping up.:) I just LOVE IT!

But as we are into these colder months, it is important to look after your skin now and all year round.

Alot of us dont think about our skin and then wonder, Why have I broken out? or Why wont my makeup stay in place? It may not be your skins fault it maybe Yours!?

During the Summer we wear an SPF and sunscreen, so we dont get brunt from the sun. But in these colder months we need extra TLC and protection too.
Your skin can get damaged from the sun, the weather and central heating fast during the Autumn and Winter.

Here are some helpful (I hope) tips on helping your skin look and feel great in these coming months!

1. Moisturiser.
Having a good moisturiser, whether you opt for a day or night cream or a all purpose one, make sure it suits your skin type. If you dont know or are unsure email me (nataliekeanemua@gmail.com) and so I can help you. But if you do know heres what you should be looking for in a moisturiser...

Normal Skin: A light fluid, water based, containing Glycerin and a SPF (all year round an spf)

Oily Skin: An Oil free, water based moisturiser with an spf and is light weight, mattifying and has Vitamin E.

Dry Skin: A cream based, riched in oil and has glycerin and spf.

Sensitive Skin:  A higher SPF, perfume free, Vitamin E and Glycerin.

Combination Skin: Oil Free, light weight, Spf and water based.

2. Exfoliate.
Exfoliating Once or Twice a month is important for your skin. A build up of chemicals, dust, dirt from the environment ,dead skin cells and flaky patches can be on the skin. Exfoliating will help aid those and make them less noticeable and allowing fresh skin to show through.
Again it is important to know your skin type!

Normal Skin: Oatmeal and Water, Once a week

Oily Skin: Oatmeal and Water , Twice a week

Dry Skin: Light cream exfoliant, Once a week

Sensitive Skin: Light cream exfoliant (avoid eyes and broken cappillaries), Once a week

Combination Skin: Cream exfoliant, Once a week.

3. Pamper!
Whether you get a facial or put a face mask on, it will really help your skin, get those extra elements to function and allow for a healthy looking skin.
I will say it again! Know your Skin!!!

Normal Skin: Deep cleansing mask, Once a month

Oily Skin: Steam with a hot cloth or use a clay mask , Every second week

Dry Skin: Shea Butter Mask, Every second week

Sensitive Skin: Chamomile (to soothe), Once/Twice a month

Combination Skin: Deep Cleansing mask on the T-zone and Shea Butter Mask on the U-zone, Once a month.

4. Fluids.
Drinking enough fluids is, whether its Water or Herbal teas are important to keep your skin hydrated and healthy. Most people think they have dry skin, when in fact they could just have dehydrated from a lack of water and moisturisers.

5. Wrap Up!
If you find there is a harsh wind, cold frost or heavy rain when you are about to go outside, wrap up! Keep your nose and mouth covered with a scarf to help bare the weather.

I hope this simple prep guide might have got you into a Autumn and Winter mode and start to think about your skin and into a new routine.

If you have any questions or want me to helo find your skin type.

Weekend Inspiration.. BLUE!

Hey there Girlies!

Another one of my Weekend Inspirations. I really hope you are enjoying them?!

So as from my title this weekend is blue! Not just for the boys!
I love blue, but I much prefer the darker blues, of midnight, navy, electric and cobalt, then the powder and baby blues, (they just dont suit me). But doesnt mean I cant sport them in accessories or the tallans (aka nails).

Whether you like the darker side of blue or the pastel side of blue, there are so many shades for you to chose and mix and match...

Heres to BLUE! (Not the band, lol)

Flirty dress. #ColorIntensity #CobaltBlue #TurnHeads
image from Pintrest

When searching Blue on Pintrest I kept coming back to this dress. Its a gorgeous Cobalt blue. Not only is the shade amazing so it the suit and style of the dress. Cobalt is a great colour for all skin tones and hair colours, a brunette and red head would look equally as fantastic as a blonde with this colour. I love this! (swooon)

Peebles Scalloped Seed Bead Necklace

If you are unsure about cobalt, Tiffany Blue ( a girls equivalent to Pink!) might be a nice choice. Paired with a white top or dress, it will make your outfit pop. Tiffany Blue reminds me of summer and holidays, so if you are still lucky enough to be heading away, try this colour as one of your holidays staples.

Fall is one day closer and i can't wait for boots season! Wishful shopping...maybe it'll get cool faster?
image pintrest

As here in the Northern Hemisphere, we are getting ready for Autumn and Winter. Blue is defiantly in this season, so for me Navy is a must to have. It is a great alternative to black and brown and like the image I choose, getting a pair of boots to pair with skinny jeans or a dress, to add a little height and to be for pulled together. Its also a nice alternative to the Ugg boots or the heels (no girl can walk in frost in heels). I would suggest a wedge boot instead of the heel in the picture (primark are doing nice ones right now,! hint hint!) But it is totally up to you.

For the next time I want navy blue and silver, without the work of the silver tips. :)
image pintrest

I have a real feeling, this colour is going to be a huge hit with nails. A midnight blue/navy teamed with a silver accent. I love this colour again on my nails and will be one of many I will wear this season.

Purple Glitter Eye Makeup for Blue Eyes
image pintrest

Whether you go for the blue shadow, gel liner or kohl pencil, blue makeup will be making its way in this season. I love using blue to pop my eyes in the waterline. But you can play about and use it as a smokey eye colour or maybe instead of a black gel liner for your flicks use blue or simply like me use it in the water line or the lower lash line. I would recommend using a cobalt or even a navy as an alternative to black. Give it a go and find which shade you like on you! Don`t forget to share them with me!

So that is my Weekend Inspiration for Blue done for this week!
If you try any shade of blue this week or this season, please share with me!
