April Favourites

HELLO LADIES,

Another month down, how time as flown...So heres another favourites post.
I have been trying and buying a couple of things this month and I like my favourites this month.

These will suit this season  and the oncoming Summer.

My Beauty Favourites are.....

1. Garnier Moisture Match for Normal/Dry Skin. My skin is usually Normal with the odd break out or dry patch. So if I have breaks outs that are drying up, the weather changes or am after a shower, I get dry patches. This is a great, fast moisturizer. Feels thick but is very lightweight. Really combats them areas. Sits well under makeup aswell.

2. Revlon Colour Stay Foundation in Buff for Normal/Dry Skin. If I need that extra coverage or am about to head out or to an occasion, this is my foundation I grab. A Medium to Full coverage, but not heavy or cakey. Lovely feeling and a nice match for me,. Looks great in photos aswell. :)

3. Revlon Colour Burst in 245 Audacious and 205 Insassassible. These are always in my bag. Incase I need a quick pop of colour or just want a perk up on my makeup, these are super easy to apply. They are matte but are moisturising and are super easy to apply on the go.

4. Blank Canvas Cosmetics in F16 (Tapered Brush) &  F14 (small dome brush). My combo for myself and my clients contour, blush and highlight. F16 is a favourite among my clients as it is super soft, and I can use it for powder and bronzer. A great combo.

5. Sleek Face Contour Kit in Light. A light weight, easy to pop in your bag palette. Super pigmented and the contour colour is not muddy or orange looking and suits my pale skin.

NON BEAUTY FAVOURITES....

Here are some my random favourites.

1. Secret, A great inspirational book, really puts you in a postive mood.

2. Avocados, a random one, but I am addicted. Great for your skin and hair when applied on skin and hair, but when eaten promotes bmi and healthy weight, is a healthy fat and oils. prevents wrinkles and full of vitmains.

3. Herbal Essence Uplifting Volume, Orange Essence, normal/fine hair. Great if like me you have long hair is quiet flat, this will give your hair some bounce and lift and smells amazing!!!!!!

4. Frozen, a great disney movie and has been added to my all time favourite disney film. Great soundtrack aswell:)

5. Elementary, a quirky, modern, light crime series. A modern take on the old Sherlock Holmes and Watson. My tuesday and thursday sorted.:D

I hope you enjoyed my Favourites? Any questions or requests contact me....

REVIEW: Rimmel ScandelEyes Waterproof Kohl Pencils

Hello There!

I have been using two of the Rimmel ScandelEyes Waterprood Kohl Pencils recently and love them both.

The shades that I own are Nude and Purple, two very pigmented colours. The other colours are Black, Silver, Bright Blue, Bronze and Taupe.

The pay off is extremly good, very opaque and creamy in texture. These pencils really wear well and last a long time, even on the waterline.

You can use these also as a cream shadow base aswell as pencil. I really love how they look also, very sleek and look and wear like any highend if not better.

They are great dupes, not really in colour but in texture to Urban Decays 24/7 Glide on pencils.

You can get these pencils from Boots or any Rimmel stand  for €5.49

If you have any questions, let me know.

A Guide to......MAC Foundation Shades.

Hey!

So I have talked about Lipstick Formulas from MAC and MAC Foundation Types in recent posts. Because I talked about the different types of foundations from MAC, the next part of choosing a foundation from MAC is how to determine their shades. This can be the most confusing. So I will try and break it down as best I can.

MAC has two codes one in letters NC & NW and numbers of 10-55.

The Letters determine the undertone and the numbers the shade range.

So NC is Neutral Cool, which is yellow toned. So this would suit anyone with a red undertone.
NW is Neutral Warm, which is pink undertone. So this would suit anyone with a yellow undertone.

*CHECK OUT MY POST ON You and Your Foundation which will help determine your undertone.*

As for the numbers they will tell you how dark the foundation is, 15 used to be the lightest shade, but they have recently added a shade 10 (great for palest shades) in some foundations and 55 is the darkest.

And heres an extra bit to take in! Hope your keeping up....There are also some odd numbers, especially in the Studio Fix, example NC27 & NW18. These are more neutral undertoned and not as strong as a 5 or 0. NC27 would not be as yellow as a NC25 which is a little darker.

Also there are plain C`s and plain W`s , stronger in undertones. These would come in mainly Studio Fix and Face and Body.

A tip for anyone going from one foundation to another is getting colour matches, simply because NC15 Studio Fix is a little darker than NC15 Studio Sculpt. So formulas can determine the colour shades.

Another tip is concealers dont match the foundation directly. Concealers tend to be more lighter than the foundation. Example NC 20 concealer is lighter than NC 20 foundation.

If you have any questions please get in contact.

A Guide to.... MAC Lipstick Finishes

Hey Ladies,

So a few of you have emailed me about how you find the MAC Foundations & MAC lipstick finishes a little daunting. Because I use MAC myself and have done quiet a bit of research myself on MAC Products I thought I would share what I know, to help you girls.:)

(I have a foundations post )

So there are a few different MAC finishes, 13 to be exact. Which if you are new to MAC and are a beginner at makeup, it will seen extremely overwhelming.

So I hope this guide will help you..........

Standard MAC Lipsticks:

Matte: These lipsticks are the driest formulas for your lips. But they are the longest wearing, which is great for that night out or an occasion. Matte is opaque and full of pigment. There is no shimmer or sheen to matte lipsticks. Matte lipsticks can last up to 6 hours.
Popular shades: Candy Yum Yum, Ruby Woo, Lady Danger and Russian Red.

          Lady Danger                                            Ruby Woo

Satin: These lipsticks are a semi-matte finish with a sheen. They are less drying on the lips and last up to 5 hours. The coverage is opaque and full of pigment.
Popular Shades: Rebel, Snob and Myth.

            Rebel                                                                                                Snob

Amplified:  Amplified is a really pigmented, opaque lipstick. It is less drying  and will last up to 3 to 4 hours.
Popular Shades: Happy-go-lucky and Red Balloon to shop.

            Happy-go-lucky                                                                        Red Balloon to shop

Amplified Creme: Amplified Creme lipsticks are a creamy and fairly long wearing lipsticks. They are pigmented and have a glossy finish. Because glossy finishes dont really last long, the wear on these lipsticks are about 2 hours. They are not drying at all on the lips.
Popular Shades: Girl About Town, Morange and Saint Germain. (I own girl about town)

             Girl About Town                                                                 Morange

Cremesheen: Cremesheens are a creamy in texture and have a gloss like shine. These will wear up to about 2 hours, so you will need to reapply. Cremesheens are fairly full in coverage and are not drying on the lips. They tend to have a more neutral shades.
Popular Shades: Creme d`Nude, Creme Cup and Shy Girl.

     Creme d`Nude                                                                                    Shy Girl

Cremesheen Pearl: This lipstick has the same formula as the original cremesheen, except there is frost added to the finish.  Feels similar to cremesheen, but there is a less of a pigment and creaminess.
Popular Shades: Coral Bliss and Pink Pearl Pop.

        Pink Pearl Pop                                                                              Coral Bliss

Lustre: This lipstick is a sheer coverage with a sheen. These are similar to glaze lipsticks. Very little coverage. They are glossy and not longwearing. The wear time on lustre lipticks are about 1-2 hours.
Popular Shades: Hug Me, Plink!, Syrup. (I own hug me)

               Hug Me                                                                                                        Syrup

Frost: Frost is a shimmery lipstick. I would advise to swatch these as many are very wearable and some are not so wearable. The most popular frost is Angel and it is one of the wearable ones. You will get about 2 hours of wear from these lipsticks. They are slightly glossy and have good coverage.
Popular Shades: Angel and Costa Chic.

                Angel                                                                      Costa Chic

Glaze: Glaze lipsticks are the most sheerest of the lipsticks. They have the most natural finishes and look glossy. These will not last long, about 1/2 hour or an hour.
Popular Shades: Hue and Pervette.

              Hue                                                                                        Pervette

Non Standard MAC Lipsticks:

Pro Longwear Lipcreme:  This lipstick states that it will last up to 12 hours, from reviews I have read that they last for an impressive 8 hours. And this is with minimum fading. They contain no glossy finish, but is not completely matte and does not dry out the lips.
Popular Shades: To the Future and Good to Go

To the future                                                                                        Good to Go

Sheen Supreme: Sheen supreme is a lipstick and lipgloss hybrid. You get the colour pay off of a lipstick and a shine like a gloss. These can wear up to 3 hours and are moisturising.
Popular Shades: Gotta Dash and  New Temptation.

                      Gotta Dash                                                            New Temptation

Mineralized Rich: This one of the newest line from MAC. MAC boasts that there is 77 comprised minerals. Rich and creamy in formula, much creamier than cremesheen. Opaque and has a nice sheen. It is comfortable on the lips and lasts about 3 hours on the lips.
Popular Shades: Bold Spring, Be a Lady and Everyday Diva.

                  Bold Spring                                                       Everyday Diva

Mattene: Mattene has the obvious Matte in the name, but is actually quiet creamy and more comfortable to wear on the lips. It is opaque and lasts up to 4 hours on the lips. It is not part of the permanent collections and are only released with limited editions.

I hope this will help you if you are wanting to get some MAC Lipsticks. If you have any questions, then please contact me.

Review: Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balms

Hello Girls,

So I bought these two matte balms in early March and feel i have had the time to test and try these out and give my opinion.

I was a bit skeptical when I was buying these balms, simply because I had tried many before and did not like them one bit. Deciding because I had heard many good reviews on these I would give it ago.

The two colours I picked up where....

205 Insaissable - this is a "My Lips but Better" medium pink.

245 Audacious -  Coral Orange
Great colour to dip your toe in the Orange trend...

These are such a easy lip product to wear. Carry it in your bag and apply and off you go, will give a great pop or added something to your makeup. Because they are MATTE, they are surprisingly and comfortably mositurising , which is very unusual. They have a menthol strong scent, so if smelling products or menthol isnt your thing , then steer clear. I really love these for everyday and they add that extra colour to your look that isnt over powering. Perfect for everyday. These come in a glossy lacquer formula aswell, which i havent tried. These have some great shade ranges and are about €17.

My Top 5 Favourite Lipsticks (April 2014)

Hello Ladies,

I was looking through my makeup drawers and decided I would do a post on my most worn and favourite lipsticks that I own.

It maybe something you guys might like to read, incase you may be searching for a new lippy.

These shades will suit alot of people in complexion and hair colour.

So here we go.....

Number 5.....

Catrice Ultimate Colour in 060 Oh Juicy!

This colour is great for this season. If you are into your statement lips and red lips, you should try this. Unsure if you could pull it off, Catrice Oh Juicy is about €4.49 and great for testing the waters. The packaging is super sleek and looks more expensive than it. is. It is a vibrant orange, on the yellow undertone and is not drying at all. Anyone can wear this but I really love it on Brunettes or anyone that has a hint of red through your hair. Super brightening.

Number 4..........

Barry M 146

Its one those "Barbie Pinks", but a wearable one. Has a slight blue undertone, which will make your teeth look whiter. Looks great if you have a slight tan or a glow. Packaging is small and sleek and perfect for you handbag and that last minute pop of colour. Wears well on the lips and does not feel drying. Again is under the €6.00 mark and you get great pigmentation.

Number 3.........

Kate Moss for Rimmel 01

My go to TRUE RED! Perfect for that statement red lip. Again a blue tone red, great to make your teeth look whiter. Pigment is great and with paired back eyes this colour really holds its own. Is semi matte, but not drying. Looks great with a gloss over the top too. Under the €8 mark and is one for the collection.

Number 2......

MAC Girl About Town - Amplified

My favourite night out lippy. Again another blue toned pink. It is vibrant and super pigmented. Can be worn true to the colour or paired back into a stain. Has a semi shine, but looks great with a clear gloss over it. Moistuirising on the lips and wears well. For a more precise and structured, statement lip use a lip pencil. Great colour for a night out or a special occasion, a FUN but not MAD ! pink, I promise.  Can be gotten from Brown Thomas online and is €19

MAC Hug Me - Lustre

As you can see from the photos its my most worn lippy. This lipstick goes well with every look. A muted brown nude, with a high gloss finish, so no need for lipgloss. This colour goes well with a smokey eye, mature women or Brides. It wears so well and looks classy and well put together. It is moisturising on the lips. You can wear it to high pigmentation wear it looks more brown toned and a deeper nude, but I love to wear it slightly paired back with a light nude gloss with a smokey eye to help pull the look together.  Can be gotten on Brown Thomas online and is €19.

Beauty Blogger TAG: Get to know me :D

                                                        XD Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Cute!!!!!!!!!
*image is from Pintrest*

HEY LADIES....:)

Seen this post on Novarellie `s Bloglovin, and really wanted to do it. Something a little light and an easy read and to get to know a little about myself.:)
At the end I will TAG people...:)

So here we go.............

1. Is your hair naturally curly or straight?

Honestly it is more of a kink. But I would say curly... I straighten it after every shower and stays for up to 3 days straight.

2. Do you dye your hair yourself or go to a salon?

I go to the salon to get my hair dyed. It is a medium brown with a hint of red tones in it. (are very subtle)

3. Do you wear the same style everyday or change it?

Around the house its a t-shirt and pj bottoms, when I am doing everyday tasks its a pair of trackies and a hoodie, so comfort, but when I go out I like to wear jeans with a blazer and top or just a nice top or a dress and heels/boots. So I suppose I change it up. Really depends on how I am feeling that day.

4. Do you do your own mani/pedi or go to a salon?

I do my own. I have only once got my mani/pedi done in a salon and that was for my Debs (prom/graduation) in 2008.

5. How often do you change your nail polish?

At the moment I have none on my fingernails. But when I do I change it as soon as it starts to look very chipped.

6.Do you polish your toes in the winter or just the summer?

I have them painted all year round. Have a orange/ red on them now.

7.How long does it take you to put on makeup?

On myself it will take longer then when I do a client. I am very picky for myself.  And try to change it up if I can. So usually up to 20-30min in total.

8.What do you do first? Face or Eyes?

I apply primer first and then do my eyes. I hate fall out and if I am not happy with my eyes I can wipe it off and start again without ruining a full face.

9.Do you collect makeup or just buy what you need when you need it?

I am a makeup collector, as a Makeup Artist it gives me that excuse. :P

10. How often do you wear false lashes?

To be honest, I hate strip lashes on me, unless they look natural. I prefer individual lashes on me. But I only wear these on special occasion or a night out.

11. Do you do a full face of makeup everyday?

Nope! I will have either have a BB Cream on or nothing at all, unless I am going somewhere, then I will put a full face on.

12.Do you wear makeup when your home alone or with family?

Sometimes 9/10 times I will not have makeup on, but if I am playing around with makeup then I will.

13.Will you leave the house without makeup?

If I am doing everyday tasks, then I will. If I am going somewhere or feel we may visit someone or stop somewhere then I will put it on.

14. How many high end products do you own?

A few, I would like more though.

15. Do you plan your OOTD every night or decide when you are getting ready?

I decide when I get ready, as I change my mind the whole time.

16.How often do you change you handbag?

I used to change it quiet alot, since I got my River Island bag for my Birthday in December I havent changed it since.

17. What time do you wake up and go to sleep?

Weekdays I am up at 8am or 9 am latest. Weekend I am up at 10-11am. I then go to bed between 11-1am.

18. How often do you workout?

I workout about 3 times a week. I either am in the gym, walking or climbing O Rourke`s Table. I am trying to get healthier and fitter this year.

19.Left or Right Handed?

Right Handed

20.How tall are you?

I am about 5"6

21. Do you speak any foreign language?

I speak English & speak a little Irish (Gaelige)

22.How many pet do you have?

Where I am now I have no pet (Really WANT a Bernese Mountain Dog !!!) But at home, where my mum is we have a Yorkie named Roxy.

23.How often are you on Blogger?

I try to be on as much as I can. About 3 times a week writing posts and everyday checking it. I want to start writing everyday, so thats my goal for this year..:)

24. Do you read comments posted on blogs?

Yeah I do, I like to see peoples opinions.

25.Do you keep a list of products to try as you see posts?

Yes most defiantly. I have a notebook with all my to try products.

30. Whats your favourite drugstore/highend brand?

From the drugstore its Bourjois, Maybelline and Catrice. Highend I like MAC and Bobbi Brown.

31.What are you doing for the rest of the day?
