Preping and Minding your skin for the Autumn and Winter..

Hello!

So, we are as I write this into Autumn (Jumping for joy). I love these months. Getting cosy and wrapping up.:) I just LOVE IT!

But as we are into these colder months, it is important to look after your skin now and all year round.

Alot of us dont think about our skin and then wonder, Why have I broken out? or Why wont my makeup stay in place? It may not be your skins fault it maybe Yours!?

During the Summer we wear an SPF and sunscreen, so we dont get brunt from the sun. But in these colder months we need extra TLC and protection too.
Your skin can get damaged from the sun, the weather and central heating fast during the Autumn and Winter.

Here are some helpful (I hope) tips on helping your skin look and feel great in these coming months!

1. Moisturiser.
Having a good moisturiser, whether you opt for a day or night cream or a all purpose one, make sure it suits your skin type. If you dont know or are unsure email me (nataliekeanemua@gmail.com) and so I can help you. But if you do know heres what you should be looking for in a moisturiser...

Normal Skin: A light fluid, water based, containing Glycerin and a SPF (all year round an spf)

Oily Skin: An Oil free, water based moisturiser with an spf and is light weight, mattifying and has Vitamin E.

Dry Skin: A cream based, riched in oil and has glycerin and spf.

Sensitive Skin:  A higher SPF, perfume free, Vitamin E and Glycerin.

Combination Skin: Oil Free, light weight, Spf and water based.

2. Exfoliate.
Exfoliating Once or Twice a month is important for your skin. A build up of chemicals, dust, dirt from the environment ,dead skin cells and flaky patches can be on the skin. Exfoliating will help aid those and make them less noticeable and allowing fresh skin to show through.
Again it is important to know your skin type!

Normal Skin: Oatmeal and Water, Once a week

Oily Skin: Oatmeal and Water , Twice a week

Dry Skin: Light cream exfoliant, Once a week

Sensitive Skin: Light cream exfoliant (avoid eyes and broken cappillaries), Once a week

Combination Skin: Cream exfoliant, Once a week.

3. Pamper!
Whether you get a facial or put a face mask on, it will really help your skin, get those extra elements to function and allow for a healthy looking skin.
I will say it again! Know your Skin!!!

Normal Skin: Deep cleansing mask, Once a month

Oily Skin: Steam with a hot cloth or use a clay mask , Every second week

Dry Skin: Shea Butter Mask, Every second week

Sensitive Skin: Chamomile (to soothe), Once/Twice a month

Combination Skin: Deep Cleansing mask on the T-zone and Shea Butter Mask on the U-zone, Once a month.

4. Fluids.
Drinking enough fluids is, whether its Water or Herbal teas are important to keep your skin hydrated and healthy. Most people think they have dry skin, when in fact they could just have dehydrated from a lack of water and moisturisers.

5. Wrap Up!
If you find there is a harsh wind, cold frost or heavy rain when you are about to go outside, wrap up! Keep your nose and mouth covered with a scarf to help bare the weather.

I hope this simple prep guide might have got you into a Autumn and Winter mode and start to think about your skin and into a new routine.

Autumn/Winter Trends 2014/2015..Part 2

Hello Ladies,

So here is Part 2 of Autumn/Winter Trends 14/15.
In this post there will be my last six picks of this seasons trends.

If you wanna see Part 1 >>CLICK HERE<<

So I suppose I better get on with it, lol.

Here are my last Six picks!

Blue

Blue is making a comeback from the 90s, and will make a effective impression.
Designers that used blue, had their own interpretation of it.
Christian Dior had a more Glittery finish, Marchesa used rounded strips on the outline of the lid and Cynthia Rowley used another trend in arrows.

Pink

Pink can look inflamed on the face, especially if pale. But it is a great alternative for a fresh and different look. Some designers have used pink in a smokey eye, so it appears more subtle.
Both Julian McDonald and Jonathan Saunders used pink in their runway.

Lilac

A new colour to the trends is Lilac. A uber impressive and chic colour. Lilac is a new and is going to be fun colour to use and create with.
Chloe and Diane von Furstenbeary are some designers that used Lilac in their collections.

Brows

Not really a suprise that brows are in this seasons trends. They keep poping up and quiet similar to last season, thick, full and expressive brows are still in.
Dion Less, Marc Jacobs and Givency are designers that expressed the brows in their collections.

Berry-Cherry Lips

Bloody red lip shades seem to be making there way out this season, but other tones are making there way in. Berry, rosy shades along with bordeaux and other tones of red are going to be huge this season. Rebecca Minkoff went red with there tones and Marc Jacobs with a more natural tone.

Metallic

My last pick of the trends, which will be big I feel near the Christmas season, that is metallics.  Eye catching and chic. Alot of designers created there own vision of metallics.
Rodarte used bronxe lips, Badgley Mischka used golds, Donna Karen used Silvers and Altuzzarra used glittery effects.
