Tips for that SUMMER TAN!

Hello Ladies,

Planning to have a tan for the Summer or for a special occasion or for that holiday so you don`t look pale.

Here`s just my TIPS on How to get that Summer Tan, without sitting out in harmful rays or using one sunbed. 


                                




Pre-TAN:

- Shave, Wax tec at least 12 hours before a tan application. If you don`t do this , your tan will streak and be uneven, also the tan will get into any open hair follicles. 

- Exfoliate, your skin well, to get rid of any dry and flaky skin. This will insure a smooth and flawless application. 

- Moisturise, your hands, wrists, around the ears, elbows, knees, ankles and toes. Do this about 2 hours before your tan at least. This will insure that your tan does`nt gather in these areas and appear too dark and dirty looking. 



There are two types of tan that I will mention today and they are Spray and Home Self Tanning. 



Spray Tan:

- First, before your tan, get a patch test so you are not allergic to any of the ingredients. Do this a week before your tan. 

- When going for your tan, I would advise to wear loose clothing that is dark and open toe shoes. Also during your tan to wear dark underwear or an old dark bikini. 

- Tell who ever will be doing your tan what sort of colour you are after and also if you suffer from any medical conditions or allergies. 

- Have your skin preped, (see above) for your tan. 

- Exfoliate and moistuise your face, if you are getting an application on the face.

- After you get your tan, make sure to ask your tanning assistant, what the shower time is.
Usually for a Light tan it is 4-6 hours, Medium 6-8 hours and Dark 8 + or overnight. Be sure to check with assistant. 




Home Tanning:

- Lay down old towels where ever you plan to tan. 

-Get yourself a tanning mitt.

-Prep skin well (see above)

- Apply tan from feet upwards and apply in upward single stokes. I find rubbing makes the tan streaky. 

- My tip is to apply at night and shower off in morning for that long lasting tan. Make sure it is a quick shower with no soap and pat dry. 






*TIP for home tanning, use a coloured tan, so you can see where you are applying it, a mousse is great for that.


*Dont worry if you see your tan going down the drain with either a Spray or Home tan, that is the chemical and developer that lays on top of the skin, the  real tan is underneath.:)




POST TAN:

- To prelong your tan, moisturise.

- Don`t take long hot showers or baths, or use heavy soaps, as this will strip your tan.

- Use a tinted moisturiser to prevent patching, uneveness and to keep that glow.


REMOVAL:

- Exfoliate with a exfolating glove.



*If on Holidays, your tan will not strip in the pool if you are only going in an out, but it will if you are a long time in it.


*Home tanning top tip! If you do not want a ORANGE TAN! A tan that has a GREEN Hue, especially if tested and left for a day or two and turns black or green, means there is not orange yellow tint to it, so will give you that Bronze glow.!

How to look after your skin from the inside out..

Happy Sunday...

I know Monday is tomorrow, :( but hope your weekend was a good one. :)

So you know I have posts on Skin Care and how important it is to maintain your skin to insure when you do apply makeup that it looks flawless. Good skin is good for anti aging and making you look bright and healthy. 

You can buy all the expensive creams and apply them religiously, but if you arnt minding your skin from the inside out, then your skin will not co operate with your creams. 

Here are my TOP 10 things you should add to your diet to have great skin.:)


1. Water:

Water is a vital liquid to our everyday life, and need it to survive. If you do not drink enough water in your day, you skin will look tired, dry and dehydrated. Water help re hydrate the skin, so your skin will look bright and feel soft.  It will also get rid of any toxins in the body, if secreted through the skin will cause them spots, so water flushes them away. For clear skin drink water! 

2. Turmeric:

Turmeric is a spice used in alot of asian cooking and great spice for adding flavour and has great healthy benefits. Can be found and added to kormas and currys. Turmeric increases blood circulation, cleansed blood prevents acne and skin disorders. Gives skin a more glowing, healthy look and feels supple. 

3. Lemons:

Anything that cleanses the liver, will in turn help prevent blemishes. Lemons are great to aid digestion and increase the secretion of bile and is a strengthening agent for the livers enzymes. A Simple Cleanse for Clearer Skin!

4. Watercress:

Watercress is part of the mustard family and a mild spicy green. Packed with Vitamin A, C & E. These help reduce and treat acne and eczema. 

5. Avocado: 

Avocado is full of good fats, needed for soft skin. It is used alot in beauty products these days and has alot of benefits. Full of Vitamin A, which removes dry, dead skin and Gultamine, which protects skin from environmental damage.

Avocado oil, easily absorbed and penetrates the deepest layer od the skin and stimulate growth of new skin cell and improve circulation. 

 Can be used on the skin, in hair and eaten..:)

6. Coconut and Coconut Oil:

Coconuts have antiodients, which help slow down anti aging, reduce wrinkles and softens the skin. Contains Vitamin C and B2 and Iron which helps bloods circulation, so it will give a lovely glow.

Coconut oil (got in health food shops and selected supermarkets) is a great moisturizer on all skin types, esp dry and mature skins. It softens, reduces wrinkles and refreshes the skin so looks more bright and awake. 

A great healer for scars of Dermatitis, Psoriasis and Eczema. 

7. Berries:

Berries are an antioxidant and has Vitamin C. Berries are great also to help boost collagen production. 

8. Parsley:

High in Vitamin K which helps the skin heal itself. Promotes elasticity, which is important for mature ladies and anti aging. Creates good skin tone. Has Vitmain A & C which helps clear blemishes and redness.

9.  Seafood:

Seafood has Omega 3 fatty acids and Zinc. Helps smooth, clear and add glow to the skin. Will reduce dryness and inflammation.

10.  Red/Green Vegetables:

 

Red and Green Veg, has Vitamin A and Beta Carotene. Carrots, Sweet Potatoes, Green Veg and Spinach have beta carotene and then convert to Vitamin A, which is an antioxidant and prevents cell damage. Prevents premature aging and has anti aging benefits. 

All of these will help keep you healthy, but also help your skin look glowing and help the aging process.

Hello Girls,

Heres just a nice easy read post. A TAG! I seen this on Youtube recently and just changed a question so it would suit a blogger aswell. These are a nice way to get to know me and what me thoughts are etc...

Reason for starting a Blog?: I had an interest in makeup and beauty and loved reading blogs and just decided to start one. Since I qualified in makeup, it makes it easy for my clients to read some tips and for me to answer questions in a post.

Something odd about you?: I have a dimple on my chin. (LOLZ)

Favourite TV Show?: I love alot atm, and som a guilty pleasure, Carrie Diaries, Elementary, The Mentalist, Lie to Me, Masterchef, DIY SOS, Keeping up with the Kardashains, Emmerdale, Corrie and Dont Tell the Bride. 

What did you do most days?: Recently have been blogging, been in Dublin at a comedy gig and have makeup clients this week. 

If you were a DISNEY Princess, which one would you be? I love Belle, from Beauty and the Beast, and always have. 

Favourite product/beauty item? I love a Primer as it makes my foundation stay all day and a highlighter as it gives me that dewy and glow. 

Favourite Perfum? Georgio Armani Armani Code.

Favourite song right now? I love music, so I love alot at the moment, John Legend All of Me, Timber Pitbull and Kesha, David Guetta ft Showteck Bad. 

Favourite lipstick? I love MAC Hug Me, Creme Cup, Lady Danger and Girl about town along with Catrice Oh Juicy and Matt about Pink. I am a makeup artist after all!!!!

Your Summer Holiday Makeup Bag Essentials.....

Hey Ladies,




So you have your holiday planned this year? (lucky duck!) Are you like what will I bring, will I need this, will I need that? Well heres my Summer Holiday Essentials that may help you. 

For the DAY TIME.....

I would recommend a SPF (the highest you can get) so that your skin is protected from them UV Rays. A BB Cream or Tinted Moisturiser which will give you some coverage, esp if you feel like you have some blemishes to cover. Concealer is great for them red areas, or if you have good skin a little bit of that on areas you need it and thats it! A Lipbalm to keep your lip protected and moist. Waterproof mascara, is great to just perk up your eyes and to make you look more awake. 
Less is More in the Day, you dont want to plaster yourself in makeup as it will melt, a soft beachy look is way better. 
Iwould also recommend a spray of discharged water, this is great on the beach if you feel like you skin is drying out, a spritz and you have hydrated skin again, very refreshing in the heat. 


For the NIGHT TIME.....

At night we dont need a SPF, so a Primer is a good one to have in you makeup bag so that your makeup stays on your face for the night in the heat. As for foundation, something like MAC Face and body which is light and glowy or keep to the tinted moisturiser and bb cream. You can add the concealer to add more coverage. A Setting spray to go over the top so that it lasts longer, especially if you go clubbing. I then would have a loose powder as it is jet milled and fine so wont cake up. I would then have a brow product like a pencil or powder or gel. I then would chose your 3 most worn colours etc browns in matte and shimmers and one bright colour, just for fun.:) A liner and waterproof mascara . A bronzer to add a little colour and contour and highlight to give that glow. I would then have one nude and one bright lippy, weather its a lipstick, gloss or stain. Colours on holidays are great to experiment with. 

I would also add them makeup brushes to this list! :)
