Day 6...30 Day Challenge

Hey Dolls!!

So Day 6..Hell this month is getting on!

This one is a tricky one today.

"My thoughts on Main Stream Music"

One I didnt expect to write about to be honest.

I love music, the one song can make you Happy, Sad, Remember a time, Be a first dance or Make you dance on tables.
I love alot of different types from pop, dance, house, rock, country, oldies and the 00s.

From the when I was younger, music has changed so much. At my age S club 7 and Britney was my kinda music and I used to watch the music videos and look you to the girls. Back then showing your mid rift was the most scandalous part of the music videos. Girls could be an average size and there was no fad on a size 0..

Nowadays, even though I do like it get up dancing to Nicki Minaj, but taking her as an example, girls at the age of 10,11 are looking at videos where sexuality it the main focus, "Being Sexy". I am 24 years old, so to me that type of sexuality is fine as our age group know what is real and fake and how to handle the pressure and the images. 10/11 year olds have no clue and think this is the way it should be. What happened to music suitable for the younger teens and adults. Ones you could sing along to without curse words.
I do enjoy listening to Nicki before I head out to get me in the mood for clubbing etc, but 10 year olds should not be subjected to this.

I do how it happens have enjoyed Meghan Trainor, someone showing her curvy figure and do it for the curvy ladies, as is Adele. Great songs, singers and meanings.

Besides all the heavy stuff, I love the fact alot of people are alot more open minded about music. You might like listening to Avicci, but if he remixes Dolly Parton, it gets a younger and newer generation listening to her then and realizing other music and past music.

I hope this was intresting for you. Something a little different and was not really prepared for this.
I am going to Avicci this year, which I cannot wait.
:)

What are your views? Who do you listen too??
Any of your favorites?
Please let me know.

Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan- Product Review..

Hello Dollies..:)

Over the New Year, I wanted to try and get myself tanned up! I usually go for cheap as chips St.Mortiz or Fake Bake. But this time, I said I would go on the Cocoa Brown band wagon. I have heard so many ladies go on about how amazing it is and the colour is great.
I have been scared of certain tans, as I have gotten the "tango" effect from a few and as I am so pale, you would know the difference with me! ha.

So what is Cocoa Brown??

Cocoa Brown was set up by Marissa Carter, a well know beauty expert in Ireland. Marissa launched Cocoa Brown in 2012 and has since released 7 other sister products, that have taken Ireland and the UK by storm. She is also stepping into the US market very soon.
Cocoa Brown is said to be Fast drying, a Natural colour, Great for sensitive skins, Easy to apply and Floral scent.

What are my thoughts?

I loved the packaging firstly, so girly and totally something I could get used to using and seeing on my cabinet. I had a few choices on what tan to go with, but I started with her first one she launched the 1 Hour tan. When I went to apply the tan, I shook the bottle and put it on my tanning mitt. The mousse looked very luxurious and nearly edible, almost like whipped cream! The next thing that hit me was the scent. A beautiful perfume that has a light floral scent. Nothing like any tan I have had. It felt alot like a treatment then a chore and was like applying a body souffle to my skin. It was such a nice change to the burnt biscuit smell, other tans give and was non drying also.
I left mine on for about 2 hours and then showered. The colour was great, a nice medium tan and great for my skin tone. And NO TANGO!!
I showered again 2 days later and the tan was still like new.
For about €4 in Pennys and for the quality I got, I will be using this way more.
As a round up!! Smells great, Quick drying, Non sticky, Great colour and Lasts long.

If you are on the look out for a new tan, give this one a go.
If you want more details or pictures, I can do a Before and After if you want ladies..
Have you tried cocoa brown? Have you tried any of the other products??

Day 5..30 Day Challenge

Hello Ladies..

Can you believe 1 more day and Christmas is over! :(
My poor tree will then be taken down...:(..I`m telling you I am going to miss the lights..

So whats todays topic I hear you ask...

"Three of your dreams/wishes for 2015"

This to me is hard as there are alot of goals I have for 2015. Some very small and some that wont happen all this year.

1. SAVE MORE MONEY...

google image

For alot of things I want to do this year, unfortunately I need money. I need to bite the bullet and start squirreling some coins away. Its so not easy with clothes and makeup on the mind, when I go into town most weekends. But I plan to start this month on creating a new routine, even if it is €20 a week.

2. LEARN TO DRIVE..

image google search

I am such a nervous person, so I am going take the bull by the horns this year and get my Learners Licence this year. I am from Galway, so it would be great not have to take a bus or ask to be driven home when I want to visit home, when I could do it myself.  So lets hope by December 2015 I will have my "L" Plates .. lol!!

3.GET A DOG...

As most of my close friends and family know, I want a dog so much. Since me and my boyfriend of nearly 8 years, have started in living properly together and are allowed pets, I really want to get a little friend. So I am stuck between a Westie and a Yorkie. I love them both. I really want a GIRL dog and have 100s of names in mind. When I get a little lady I will let you all know. Waiting a month or two to get her..:)

What are your top 3 dreams and wishes for 2015??

Day 3 of a 30 Day Challenge.

Hello!

So it has come to Day 3! The Christmas detox has set in to most of us now. :)

Today is going to be about...

A book I love...

I am not much of a reading, regarding books in fiction, I like to do books, blogging, self help, beauty books, ones you don`t need to put a bookmark to.
I have choosen a book, I have found really good and uplifting and anyone I have lent it to, they have found it so helpful aswell.

The book is the well known The Secret by Rhona Byrne

image from google search

Whether it is money, self confidence or weight issues you have with yourself, this book will give you condifence and some help to get back to your positive self. I am all about positivity, but it is so easy to get into a negative mode. It is a book you can pick up and leave and still feel like you have gotten something from it. I really recommend it this to add to your bookshelf.

Here is Day 1 and Day 2.

Let me know if have read this book and your thoughts, Comment Below.

Day 2.. January 30 Day Challenge

Hello there!!

So its day 2! How is 2015 for you??

Todays topic is...

"Something you feel strongly about.."

To be honest, this post maybe a little heavy for some people and others I hope it might help.
I want to talk about Mental Health.
Something I feel is a bit of a taboo in alot of people and communities.
I am a firm believer in speaking about mental health and how it affects people in so many different ways. Whether it is Anxiety, Depression, Stress or Social Isolation, everyone can suffer from a mild to severe versions of mental health.
I think it is so important from a young age to address it and how to learn to live and control it, from a early age as 10+, as mental health is affecting people from as early as 11 and 12 these days. Which is unfortunate but true.
Whats the difference about treating diabetes or asthma. When we get these conditions, we are told to take insulin or an inhaler to control them. These affect our organs on our lower body, so why not treat mental health the same way. Find the trigger and learn ways to control it.
I suffer with asthma and when I have a cough, or an attack i take my inhaler. When I have an anxiety or stress attack I have learnt, to take 30mins to breath and relax. Whether it is going into your room, closing your eyes and concentrating on your breathing or switching on some music or making a list of what is bothering you . You need to find ways that suit yourself.

Anyone can get a mental health problem whether its from finances, jobs, social societies, pressure on yourself and others, bullying or how you look or feel.
So many young people suffer under the influences of Facebook and social media. Targeted because of who they are, what they do or havent done. Way to much pressure is put on kids.
Ideally I feel councilling should be compulsory to all students from 1st year to leaving cert.
I feel a class dedicated to mental health and how to deal with it would be ideal way to educate us more. Even creating a class box where every student a month writes what is bothering them and tackling them in an anon class. Also a parent night where issues where disscussed and what problems the kids had and how to approach it at home. Children have a small voice and need to feel safe and happy. This might be a way to combate things without peoples identiy being targeted.

If you are 10 or 100 we all need ways to help combate and control the attacks and how we feel.
Here are just some tips, if you feel down, upset, feel an attack is setting on or just need a little help coping with an issue...

1. Take a deep breath and take a step back and observe your suitation.

2. Take a walk. A clear head can help deal with all challenges and releases indorfans

3. Get a good morning and night routine. Your body clock is important.

4. Do something you love. Whether it is reading, running, listening to music, this will distract you and make your problem when revisited seem less big.

5. Write things down. I find writing what bothers me or on my mind, takes a load off. Start a diary on when you feel crappy and then another entry when it was resolved or you felt better, this will give you hope for each problem that comes up that it will be resolved.

6. Listen to your breathing. Place one hand on your chest and feel your chest going up and down and take deep slow breaths so slow your heart and breathing down.

7. Speak to a friend or family member. I problem shared is better than bottling it up

8. See people. Anyone can isolate themselves from friends and family as it is easier than to face them and problems that lie ahead, but worse problems develop, as you over think, create scenarios, and you then fear the world.

9. Create a mood/quote board. Things you want, things that inspire you, quotes that mean alot to you. These will give you something to get up for and also have a goal to work towards.

10. Create a playlist: It is hard if you are at someones house or on a bus and you get an attack. Find songs that relax you, that make you happy. When you are around people in public, put you headphones on and concentrate on them words and breath. Untill you can get off a bus or leave a place, this might just help.

I know alot of people that think mental health, is laziness, you bring it upon yourself, your weak, you have no life, to much time on your hands. I can tell you it is more common everyday, every second. No matter how mild or severe it is, it is there. Like a shadow that follows you day in and day out, it all depends on how we deal with it and control it. We all have a brain, we all think, we all have problems but we have to find a control and a way of seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Just because one thing doesnt work for you and does for someone else does not mean there is no way out of your situation. It just means you  have to find your way of dealing with things and seeing things in a different light that suits you.
I have anxiety time to time and it all depends on how you push yourself and control yourself. There are days you will want to stay in bed as it is so much easier than facing YOURSELF in the mirror and seeing YOU. But if you can get out, and go for a walk or do something that puts a smile on yourself, then your shadow will feel less heavy to carry.
Life is about challenges and how we meet them. We can overcome anything in time, but that is what you need patience for time to pass and wounds and fears to heal. It isnt easy for everyone, but ENJOY the good times and forget the past and the bad times, because the past is gone and the future is to be lived for.

I am not a professional, but just someone who has views, opinions and knows to a certain extent of what your brain can do without you looking for it.
If you feel suicidal, like life is too much, please visit a professional or GP, unfortunately our health service is slow at times, but wait it out until you get seen. Nothing is worse than a loss and suicide is not a quick fix it is for life, which affects not just you but everyone else. Sometimes we all need help and it is so important to except it, as it may lead you into better things ahead.
I dont want to preach to anyone, but we are seeing so many young people die because they have no idea on how to get thoughts, fears and problems out of their heads and how to control things that happen. I feel like we all need way more education and less of a taboo towards mental health.

I hope this post was worth something to you or helped you in some way.
please get help if you feel way out of your depth!!

DAY 1....30 Day Challenge

Hey Ladies,

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

So it is January 1st, a new year, 2014 flew.
A i am so excited for the coming year, I do feel January to be a hard month, whether its because of the weather, bills or how you generally feel.
I decided to keep myself bust by starting this 30 Day challenge and hoping you all will enjoy reading it. Something different from the makeup side of things and I thought it might be interesting.

So DAY 1 is ,,,,

FIVE WAYS TO WIN YOUR HEART!! <3

I am one of the lucky ones, whos heart is already one, by my long term boyfriend of 8 years John.
So I suppose ways that he has held onto my heart are really genuine and simple ways.

1.LAUGHING: He always makes me laugh, even if it something so childish, still or stupid. I love his humor as we are always both on the same page on what we find funny. I think it is so important to laugh as it makes you smile and you feel happier.

2.RESPECT: Knowing that I am thought about and listened to means alot to me. That my opinion matters. Sometimes you can feel like you havent a voice and that your opinions matter, respect is really important from the get go with me.

3.HAVING AN INTEREST: Someone that makes the effort to learn about what you like and try and makes the effort to know what I like and dont like.

4. DREAMS: A person who has dreams and hopes for themselves and who they are with. Anyone that sets goals for themselves and gives 120% to reach it.

5. THE LOOK:This maybe a little cliche! But hey I am an old romantic at heart! Someone that looks at me in the way that I know that I am the ONE to them. I read people alot from their eyes, whether they have a sparkle, a genuine kindness or a cold dark look!
It is so important to me, as you usually talk to people by making eye contact and it is so important to feel comfortable and relaxed when speaking and that the other person looks genuinely interested.

I dont know if you liked this post! It is very personal, but maybe it will help you get to know me more and get talking.

Please let me know your top 5 ways to win your heart <3
