* Meeting Must Haves

Hello Dolls,

So I was contacted by Meetings Booker, a startup website.

As part of this post, it will be all about what your essentials should be when at work or attending meetings all day.

At times it can be so hard to keep up with our day to day life and personal life, but it is important to keep organised so you are at your highest game!!

My top 5 essentials are....

5. Concealer

Concealer is a huge must in my bag at any given day. Its perfect for those touch ups and brightening the under eyes-esp if it is a light shade. Also for those nasty breakouts. I always carry this around.

4. Diary/Stationary

If anyone is like me...I make alot of notes, lists etc you name it i do it..I can be kinda mad when comes to being organised so I do not forget anything. So something that contains a diary, notes, lists is perfect..:) Also one that looks cute..(Just sayin, I am a girl) I do feel this will be the be all and end all or holy bible to alot of professional women and a real investment.

3. Heels

If like me you prefer your comfort, low and comfy shoes are always a must, BUT..if it comes to a presentation or meeting you want to look your best and also look professional. Carrying a pair of low heels with you is a great way to just switch when you need to. A game changer in some peoples eyes!!

2. A pocket mirror

It might be crazy at work so a trip to the ladies to top up maybe a long walk and making you late. But a quick fix of the hair and check of the lippie is needed. Carrying a little mirror so you can check yourself at your desk is perfect.

1. The Bag

To me its the essential.. It will carry all your bits and bobs- your makeup, ipad, phones, change of clothes, heels, organisational bits and bobs and diary. Big enough to carry the kitchen sink. Think mary poppins endless bag. The one piece you cannot go to the office or meetings without!!

I really hope these essentials will get you through your work meetings and week..

As it is Monday tomorrow...have a wonderful week!!

Please let me know if this was helpful, or if you have any comments.

Galway Races.. Ladies Day Guide : To-Do List, Part 4: "The Night Before & Essentials"

Hello Dolls,

How is your Sunday going? It is miserable out :( Here is hoping weather picks up for the races!

So its PART 4!  And in this post I am going to go through what to do the night before so that Ladies Day will come together and you are organised. Also I will be letting you know my essentials to take with you on the day!

"The Night Before"

If like me you are doing all or some of your process of getting ready, then being organised is really important.  If you are getting all done professionally then time keeping is really important.
Below I will bullet point my to do list!

To- Do List...

image google

-Set out your outfit.
If you know what your wearing, hanging up your outfit with all you need to wear or bring like clutch, umbrella, necklace, headpiece, shoes etc are important. If you think it needs run down with a roller because of fluff or an iron. Do all this then.

-Tan.
If you are getting your tan done or doing it yourself, then make sure you get your tan done early enough. So that at least you can shower earlier and if their is need for a top up or to correct any missed pieces or patches that you have decent light and time to do this.

-Hair & Makeup.
Have your hair washed the night before and skin prepped with the skin care routine. If you are doing your makeup and hair yourself, have a station ready for the morning. If you know what you want and how you are doing things lay everything out. Hair styling tools, clips, pins, brushes etc & the same with your makeup, your foundation, lippie, lashes etc. Have some organisation. Last thing you want to be at it spending a good half hour or more looking for that eye liner or curling wand. Its time eaten into your time to get ready so you will be rushing. No one wants that. RELAX !

-Nails.
Get them nails done. If you are getting them done professionally, then you have not to worry. But make sure you prep your nails if you are doing them the next morning. Paint your fake nails or your natural ones getting the coats and extra drying time so no smudges. Also getting the correct fit for the fake nails. So their is not fiddling with them. One other thing, which I will add here is your feet. Make sure your file and polish them. If you have any rough skin, exfoliate them before your tan and add moisturizer. People will notice, especially if you have fab strappy sandles.

-Heels.
Make sure you break in any new shoes. You will be in pain otherwise and have blisters. Walk about in your PJS even. Any movement in the heels the day or week before will save you on the day itself.

The night before prep, will give you some extra time to enjoy the process so set your alarm early and have all set out.

Next is knowing what to bring the day in your bag. Something we all panic with, and we fling anything and everything and we forget that one thing! Anyone??

Gel Cushions: If you are in heels all day, your feet will get sore, so carrying some gel cushions will help slightly with the comfort later in the evening. Another tip, apply deep heat to the balls of your feet, it will help relax the balls of your feet. Do this in the morning before and if you get a travel size tube, carry it with you or any muscle gel.

Plasters.:You just never know, You may be knocked or fall in those heels. A friend may nick themselves on broken glass or even you may suffer grazes from new shoes on the back of your heels. You never know.

Makeup:From powder & brush, concealer, lipstick, gloss, liner and lash glue. All so you can keep looking fresh and can top up during the day.

Umbrella: Have you seen the weather lately? Even if their is no cloud in the sky, i can be sure their will be a chance of rain. ha.

Flats: I have no idea what size clutch or bag you are taking with you, but if like me you like a decent size clutch so it can carry alot. Then you maybe able to sneak in some small flats. If all else fails regarding the gel cushions and gel and the walk to the chipper the end of the night is so much in heels, then you will thank yourself you packed them.

Painkillers: Headaches and pains can come along, especially when everything is loud and mad going. Having some pandadol for you or anyone around you will be handy.

Phone & Purse: You can get a purse that will house both your phone, cards and money, but if you don`t then having a small purse with you is enough. Only bring enough cash and if you need your card pack it seperatly so if your purse goes missing at least you have some money. Also pack ID with you, leave all your other cards and possessions that are important at home. Phone is obvious and can act as your camera also. If you can get a travel charger then pick one up and pack that, it will come in handy. :)

Snack: Knowing that the day will be long. Pack a protein bar like one the Nakd or Quest bars. You will get some sort of food in you and curb any hunger till you get food.

Tomorrow I will have PART 5: "Where to go Ladies day"

Summer Bag Essentials

Hello Ladies,

I was asked on Twitter to take part in a Summer Blogger Challenge, by Amy Goldfish .

This weeks challenge is Summer Bag Essentials.

Since it`s now June, its the perfect start to the challenge, beach bags, suitcases are being packed. Unlikely for Ireland to have a HOT summer, but you never know. And incase we do, heres what I will have in my Summer bag.

SPF:
At any time the year its important to wear an SPF. Bur especially when the sun is out, as the UVA/UVB rays are harmful to your skin. There are so many on the market these days, but make sure it is high enough. If you cannot get one you like, a primer/tinted moisturiser/foundation you choose should have an SPF, just dont layer Spf as it will cancel each other out.
A great, an cheap SPF is from non other than ALDI. Lacura Anti Aging Sun Cream is just €4.99 and comes on SPF 30 & 50. Is fragrance free is soaks right into the skin. You can wear this alone or under makeup.

Aldi Lacura Anti Aging Cream €4.99

BB Cream:
Instead of a heavy foundation sliding down your face in the heat and if you find a tinted moisturiser is to light, try something inbetween like a BB Cream. I really love it through the humid, warm weather. It sits well and covers them discolorations and blemishes. My favourite is Maybellines Dream Fresh BB Cream. Price is about €11.99 and lasts a long time.

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream €11.99

Lip Balm:

Sometimes we forget our lips, unless they are chapped in the winter. The weather can still effect your lips, even in the summer. And because it is one the thinest parts your face, its important to protect it. So a Lip Balm that norishes and has an spf is important. You can get them anywhere and in any flavour. One that is great is Nivea Kiss of Protection SPF 30, Price is about €3.

Water:
Water is supper important to stay hydrated in hot weather. Having it to drink and keep drinking it during the days is needed to keep your skin in great shape.
Your choice on what brand of water you choose to drink.

Accessories:
Incase of a event emergancy, its good to have a couple of accessories in your Summer Bag. What I would put in is hair ties and clips- if you go for a dip in the sea and dont want to destroy your mane then you will need these. Deodrant- to keep fresh in the hot weather. Sunglasses- to protect them eyes and make a fashion statment, I love aviators myself. Lastly your favourite statment necklace or earrings to bring day to night!

These are my Summer Bag Essentials and will be in my bag, as soon as Irish weather gets warmer!

Your Summer Holiday Makeup Bag Essentials.....

Hey Ladies,

So you have your holiday planned this year? (lucky duck!) Are you like what will I bring, will I need this, will I need that? Well heres my Summer Holiday Essentials that may help you.

For the DAY TIME.....

I would recommend a SPF (the highest you can get) so that your skin is protected from them UV Rays. A BB Cream or Tinted Moisturiser which will give you some coverage, esp if you feel like you have some blemishes to cover. Concealer is great for them red areas, or if you have good skin a little bit of that on areas you need it and thats it! A Lipbalm to keep your lip protected and moist. Waterproof mascara, is great to just perk up your eyes and to make you look more awake.
Less is More in the Day, you dont want to plaster yourself in makeup as it will melt, a soft beachy look is way better.
Iwould also recommend a spray of discharged water, this is great on the beach if you feel like you skin is drying out, a spritz and you have hydrated skin again, very refreshing in the heat.

For the NIGHT TIME.....

At night we dont need a SPF, so a Primer is a good one to have in you makeup bag so that your makeup stays on your face for the night in the heat. As for foundation, something like MAC Face and body which is light and glowy or keep to the tinted moisturiser and bb cream. You can add the concealer to add more coverage. A Setting spray to go over the top so that it lasts longer, especially if you go clubbing. I then would have a loose powder as it is jet milled and fine so wont cake up. I would then have a brow product like a pencil or powder or gel. I then would chose your 3 most worn colours etc browns in matte and shimmers and one bright colour, just for fun.:) A liner and waterproof mascara . A bronzer to add a little colour and contour and highlight to give that glow. I would then have one nude and one bright lippy, weather its a lipstick, gloss or stain. Colours on holidays are great to experiment with.

I would also add them makeup brushes to this list! :)

I really hope this helped you if you are packing and are struggling on what to take.

Any other requests for my blog, let me know.
