Preparation for the DEBS (Prom/Grad)

Hello there girls!

I know I am probably a tad bit late for some of you for the DEBS season, I do apologies.

For any one that does not know, DEBS are the same as the PROM and a GRAD. It is a night spend with your class mates before you separate and go your own ways to college, work etc..

So for the ladies that still have to go to their DEBS, this is for you.

A helpful Preparation guide, for all those Questions and Queries for before that day arrives to the day itself.

image from www.dressesie.com (google search)

Treatments:

Every girl leading up to the day is thinking about what to get done, and when to have it done, soon as the dress is got.

Eyebrows: Possibly not the most thought of until you sit down on the makeup chair or therapists chair. There are so many options you can get done to help groom those brows. You can opt for a traditional wax or go for threading. There is also tinting the brows and HD Brows. All of which range from €10 -50 and upwards. But stick to your BUDGET. I do reccomend getting the brows Waxed PROFESSIONALLY! Your brows frame your face and you will see such a difference.

DO NOT get your eyebrows done the morning of your DEBS, as the area will be red and it will take the day to settle and makeup will not be able to cover it flawlessly. I recommend getting your eyebrows done 2-3 days before your debs. Always get a test done before your appointment to make sure you are not allergic to the wax.

The Legs:  Whether you wax or shave your legs (again if waxing do a tester), do this the morning the day before your tan, so 2 days before the debs. You cannot shave/wax the morning of the tan, as your follicles will be open and is not goo for hair growth and it will look patchy.

Tan:  An Irish girls must have! I do recommend for your debs to get it done by a professional to ensure the colour is right for you and that it is flawless. Book your tan the morning the day before your debs, not that day as you will need to wash the developing layer off 8 hours after the tan and if you dont you will start getting darker by the hour.
The night before moisturise your elbows, wrists, knees and ankles, this is so the tan does not cling to these areas and appear darker.
Ask your tanning assistant for what your looking for whether its light-medium or dark. But remember you want a healthy glow, not to change your appearance.
Always have a tester done before hand also incase you are allergic to any ingredients in the tan and be sure to tell your therapist if you are.
The morning of the tan, wash your hair (as in the evening your cannot use soap). Wear loose clothing and if you have a strapless dress, where a strapless bra or a bandeau so you do not get any lines.
Shower about 8 hours after the tan, with no soap and pat dry! Dont worry if you see tan down the drain, thats the developing layer and the tan will redevelop to the permanent tan colour 1-2 hours later.
To prolong your tan, moisturise and your should get a week out of the tan.

Hair: As mentioned in the tan section, wash your hair before your tan, the day before your debs. Do not add too much conditioner or any product, let to air dry and do not style or add heat to it, as you are taking any texture you have to help create the style you want for the DEBS. I would book your hair appointment (if available) about 4-5 hours before you set off. And if you have any photos or ideas be sure to take them with you or show your hairdresser a week in advance in case anything extra is needed.

Makeup: Again when you go see your makeup artist, bring photos and share ideas a week before if you can, also take a photo of the dress, so colours can be matched and compliment the style and colour of your dress. Book your appointment 2-3 hours (if possible) before you leave. Tell your makeup artist also if you are allergic to anything, so you do not get any breakouts or reactions.

Lastly some Tips/Advice:

- Eat before you go, whether its a sandwitch or a salad, have something in your stomach. Its very easy the day of your debs to forget to eat or be nervous to eat. But if you plan to have a drink its important to have something, as it will be a long time from morning till evening till your meal.

- Pack a lippy and gloss in your bag. Whether its the same shade as the Makeup Artists or a just a nude lippy and a clear gloss, it will help keep you topped up for those pictures. Also carry a liner and powder.

- Some little extras, is a saftey pin, YOU JUST NEVER KNOW, when a button may pop or zip may break and it is so easy to pop in your bag. Lastly Flats/Flip Flops, your feet will thank you while you are dancing to Lady Gaga! (ha)

-Also dont bring any important items, like cards and excess money. Be sure to look out for your stuff.

OVER ALL.....ENJOY YOUR NIGHT!

Bridal Guide

Hello MRS-TO-BE

First off Congratulations!

So whether you are a day in or a whole year into your engagement, I know you probably have 100 things you want to do at once. Between the wedding cake, the flowers, the dress and the reception, they are never ending.

So here`s where I come in to help. This guide is a time frame and some suggestions to make the thought process a little easier.

http://azeventrentals.com/home We look forward to having you as a future customer #chairrentalspeoriaaz

Preparation

Skincare:

The important base for your makeup for your BIG DAY , is your skin. So preping your skin months in advance so you get the right products and routine so insure on your day your skin is in tip top order. You need to find out what your skin type is, (ask your therapist or makeup artist or me :) ) Next step is getting products that suit your skin and getting into a routine, I would start this 6months in advance, to insure that the products suit your skin. Keeping hydrated and eating good clean food can also help your skin.  Food and drink can aggravate the skin so recording what breaks you out will help you stay away from them foods leading up to your wedding day.

Tan:

Most brides like to get a sunkissed and a bitta colour before their day, to insure they look glowing. Make sure you Trial your tan, as you may get a reaction or you may not be happy with the colour. I recommend a light natural glow, not to dark. Also the day before the tan, exfoliate, shave and moisturise the  knees, elbows, writs and ankles so the tan doesnt cling heavily to those area.

Hair:

Step one find a Hairdresser you trust. One that will listen to what you want. Have photos of ideas on what you like. Make sure you are comfortable and dont be afraid to say no or ask to change things.

Makeup:

When booking an Trial with your makeup artist, book 3-4 months in advance. Take looks you like and inspirations you feel you would like to recreated for your day. I would recommend bringing the people like your Bridal Party and Mother of the Bride to the appointment to get opinions and discuss looks for them on the day. Take a picture of your dress and bridesmaids dresses so that the makeup ties into the theme. Before leaving ask about the lipstick the makeup artist will be using so that you can purchase it to top up during your day.

THE BIG DAY!

Timing  and Lighting is the key on the day!
If your makeup artist is coming to you house, have a room with good lighting and a chair facing the window along with a table ready for her and the stylist. Dedicate a room for this as it will make the process easier and nobody will be crossing over each other on the morning and you can take a little breath of relaxation and be pampered before you pop into your dress.
I would prefer to start with the mother of the bride, followed by the bridesmaids and lastly the bride. I would take an hour to do the brides makeup to ensure it is not rushed and that they can relax before the whole day.
I find it is important for the stylist and makeup artist to stay until the bride leaves incase there is any touch ups needed.

TIP! Have your Tan done one day and then have your makeup and hair done the next so that you get the full look and effect.

How to get them "BROWS"??

Hello Ladies,

A huge part of my makeup application either on myself or my clients is filling in or grooming the BROWS!

This is a crucial part, a well groomed brow really lifts the eyes and makes you look more awake. If you apply foundation and don`t fill in or go over your brows with a product, they tend to lose there pigment and look dull and grey. NOT GREAT IN PHOTOS!

So what are the basics in getting that BROW!? Well groomed, thick brows are a real big trend from Summer 2014, which has been over the fashion weeks. A huge icon and famous for her beautiful brows is Cara Delevigne.
So if you are young and want to start plucking your brows....STOP!!! Natural is better.
If like me and you plucked the hell out of your brows and are trying to save them with shaping and filling them in, well heres a little help!

Using your eye as a guide and a pencil or makup brush, Start from the inner part the eye, arch from an angle -from nose and up through centre of pupil  and finish at the end of your eye.(SEE DIAGRAM BELOW) Depending how thick you want your brows is up to you.
I like mine thick at the front and getting thinner at the end.

So you have the shape, what products do you use next?
Well many people like to used a pencil, a powder or now a gel tint or a wax like product. There are so many products out there, so really its your own preference and how you like your brows to look. Me personally Iwill brush through my brows with a spooly to get rid of any foundation that may lie in my brows and then  use a well sharpened pencil with in a light brown to shape out my brow. I then use a powder that matches my hair colour and with an angled brush I lightly fill in my brows. Doing this in a feathering motion so it looks more natural. you can built it up then. I then brush through with a spooly and reapply if I need too. Finishing with a clear Brow gel to set all. You can also spray some hairspray onto a spooly and brush through your brows if you have no brow gel handy.

I do feel weird if my brows are not done, if I could only have foundation and my brows done I would be so happy.

Other alternatives, if you find it hard to do your brows is get them shaped professionally. HD Brows are a huge thing now and there are so many varieties of brands that offer the same result. Something to think of if you really find your brow shape a challenge.

So how do you find doing your brows? Want a tutorial? Let me know, COMMENT BELOW,

Brown Eyes: what colours suite my eyes?

Hello Girls,

This is my last post on "what colours suit my eyes". So in this post we are looking at those of you with BROWN EYES.
If like me you have Brown eyes, then we are considered lucky! Reason being, most people with Brown eyes can get away with a wide variety of colours and shades.
Also our eye colour is very common, like blue eyes.

If you have brown eyes and want colours that will suit you and make them POP, you need to be looking for, Blues, Navy, Purple, Turquoise & Plums. When choosing a tone it is best to stay with cooler tones as it will show up the warmth of your eyes. Likewise Blues & Green eyes would stay on more warmer tones to help bring out there eyes and the tones in there eyes.
As for Metallics, stay cool and opt for something like silver, which will brighten the eyes.

Celebs that share BROWN EYES are

Jennifer Lopez, Penelope Cruz and Kim Kardashian..

Like my other two posts I will related to colours that are from MAC, as most people know of these colours already and most affordable brands make dupes of these colours.

MAC Shale                                       MAC Satellite Dreams

MAC Knight Devine

Brown eyes can also wear Satin Taupe & Woodwinked (as seen on previous posts)

(All images where found on Google Search)

I hope this helped you all with BROWN EYES!!

Green Eyes: what colours suit me eyes?

Hello Ladies.

This is a follow up from the BLUE EYES post I done. Again I get asked alot from clients "What eyeshadow should I wear to suit my eyes?" Really what you want to aim for is how to make your eye colour POP and compliment the shadow you wear.

So heres a little help for all of you with GREEN EYES..:)

Green Eyes are not as common as Blue or Brown but there are still colours that will make them POP!

Colours you should try wearing if having green eyes are, Purples, Plums, Lavenders, Rose hued shades, Coppers and Taupes.
Again like the blue eyes Green is opposite Purple on the colour wheel, so this will compliment your green eyes and make them POP! You also dont have to wear a pure purple if you are a little shy about colour. Purples come in all shades from light to medium to dark and also you can get shadows that have an undertone or flecks of purple running through it, so the smallest hint will still work. Even changing your liner to a purple one will help you transition into this colour range.

So thats what you should wear but what about colours you should avoid?
Really Light Blues are a no no! They will really wash out them beautiful eyes.

Celebs that share Green Eyes are:

Hayden Panettiere & Scarlett Johanson ...

Again sticking with MAC Shadows as they are so popular and most people know the shade and alot of affordable brands have dupes for them they are an easy guide.

MAC Satin Taupe                                                    MAC Antiqued

MAC Copperplate                                                  MAC Swiss Chocolate

(The images in this post where found on Google Search)

I really hope this helped any of you with GREEN EYES!

Blue Eyes: what colours suit my eyes?

Hey Ladies,

So I have been asked quiet a few times, what colours will suit me and what should I try to make my eye colour POP! So I have decided to do a post on BLUE, GREEN & BROWN eyes for you.

So here I am going to start with BLUE EYES!!

Really Blue eyes are very easy to make POP! And are as common as Brown eyed girls.

I would suggest to wear warm shades of shadows, so your looking at Golds, Peaches, Oranges, Rich Bronzes, Browns and Cranberrys.
Don`t be scared of these colours, you really dont have to go out and buy an ORANGE eye shadow, simply a brown for example that has an orange undertone or flecks of orange going through it.The smallest hint of the colour will make your blue eyes POP!!The reason orange works is because Orange is opposite Blue on the colour wheel, so it compliments eachother. So if in doubt look at the colour wheel.
When look at metallics again stay on the warm side of them and go for Golds, Silvers and Bronzes. Metallics will really brighten up your eyes.

So thats what suits blue eyes, but what should you avoid?
Well really blue eyes should stay away from Greens and Blues as they will hide your blue eyes and they will disappear under all that BLUE!

Celebrites that share BLUE eyes are:

Tayloe Swift, Cameron Diaz & Reese Witherspoon....

(Images found from Google Search)

Here are also some MAC Eyeshadow shade that may help as a guideline for what to look for. Reason I choose MAC as most people know MAC & alot of companies create dupes for the shades so you can Google some affordable brands.

MAC Cork                                                                                            MAC Patina

MAC Cranberry                                                            MAC Woodwinked

(All these images where found from Google Search)

I hope this helps you ladies with BLUE EYES.

Skin Type Guide: Dry Skin

Hello Lady,

Another skin type guide for you. If you are reading this and are wondering "Have I dry skin?". Well read on....
So when you look in the mirror, in a dry skin you would see tight pores, flakiness, patchiness, broken capillaries, have a fair complexion and maybe freckles. When feeling your skin (using back on index finger) it would feel ruff to touch.
Dry skin is from the lack of oil balance in the skin, so it is important to renew this.

So to help you ladies with drier skins. Again like any skin type it is so important to Cleanse, Tone and Moisturise.

With homecare, a cleanser that is oil based is advised.
Example: Olay Gentle Cleanser Conditioning Milk for Normal/Dry/Combination

As a toner something that is Alcohol free is important. As alcohol will dry out your skin more. An ingredient that I good for dry skin is Rose water, can be got in a chemist/pharmacy or health food shop on its own or an added ingredient in a toner.
Example: Biotherm Biosource Toner for Dry skin.

For a moisturiser, I recommend one that is oil riched and has glycerin and that contains an SPF.
Example: Garnier Moisture Match Start Afresh

All of these elements and ingredients will help your dry skin and control it. Any questions or help get in contact with me, Email: nataliekeanemua@gmail.com or Facebook: Natalie Keane MUA

Skin Type Guide: Oily Skin

Hi Ladies,

This is my  second post on my Skin Type Guide. Here it is about Oily Skins. So when you go to feel your skin (ideally with the back of your index finger), it would feel greasy and generally feel heavy through the day. You may also have to powder your skin, if wearing makeup. When you look in the mirror to inspect your skin you may see a shine on the skin, Pustules (whiteheads, with pus), Comedones (Blackheads) , Papules (Whiteheads with no pus) and your pores will be large and dilated.

Again for any Skin Type Cleanse, Tone and Moisturising is so important , day and night.
As a Homecare routine there are a few things i recommend for all of you that have oily skin.

As a cleanser I recommend a gel cleanser. Example: Clarins Gentle foaming cleanser Combination/Oily skin.

For oily skin you may have either  just oily skin or a sensitive oily skin. So when looking for a toner for just oily skin, look at alcohol based toner that may have witchazel as an ingredient. Then with oily/sensitive skin alcohol free is recommended.
Example : Orgins Zero Oil refining toner.

As a moisturiser I recommend an oilfree, water-based, mattifying, moisturiser with an spf.
Example:Garnier Moisture Match Shine Be Gone.

All these ingredients and elements in products will help reduce and control your oily skin. If you are unsure wheather you have oily skin or have any questions you can Facebook me: Natalie Keane MUA or Email me : nataliekeanemua@gmail.com

Skin Type Guide: Normal

Hiya Ladies.

Starting my blog with a skin type guide. Normal skin being the first. If you have Normal skin, you can be called lucky. If you have Normal skin your skin will fell soft and supple and not tight nor greasy. If you look in the mirror and inspect you face, with normal skin you pores will be barely there, you will have a clear complexion and an even skin tone. *Lucky Lady*

It is so important for any skin type to Cleanse, Tone and Moisturise, Day & Night.
For homecare, I recommend a cleanser that is water based which are a gel and milk cleansers.
Examples: No7 Beautiful Skin Melting gel Cleanser for Normal/Dry Skin

As a toner you can get Orange Flower water from your local chemist/pharmacy and health food shop. Or alternatively, something that has that ingredient in its formula or that is soothing and gentle on the skin.
Example: No7 Soft Soothed and Gentle Toner

Lastly as a moisturiser one that has an spf, glycerin and feels light and fluid like.

All these things will help maintain your normal skin and create a lovely base for your makeup.

Any questions on your skin type or not sure if you have normal skin, contact me through my Facebook :Natalie Keane MUA
or Email me : nataliekeanemua@gmail.com
