Whats going on?..With Anxiety?

Hello Dolls,

I was debating weather to post this, and in my heart I feel like its important and in my head I was like, what will people think (hello to anxiety).
Alot of people consider anxiety with depression, and really that is not the case. You can suffer from a mild to severe case of anxiety from any age and any way of life. I always say never judge a book by its cover, you may think that person has a wonderful life, is happy go lucky, but we will never know what anyone else is thinking or feeling. So being sensitive and educating ourselves when someone comes to you and says I don`t feel well, I don`t feel like me? Don`t be like what I have experienced from 20% of people "Ara cop on", "pull yourself together", "get a life", " how would you be anxious?" That will make that person, crawl into themselves, never speak again or will make themselves believe that there is something wrong with them. Like Asthma for example, we may be born with it, or harbour it until it rises its head as we get older, but it is something that we are born with.
People ask me what does it feel like? For me I feel like I am trapped, the walls are getting closer, I get what I call "Tunnel vision", alot of things can seem a blurr, you lose focus on alot of things, you have this urge to cry alot, have a anger or frustration that makes you want to scream, like you cannot escape or that there is a pressure sitting on your head and chest. I end up thinking Negative thoughts, like I can`t do that, or I look terrible. Simple things like if a person laughs or looks my way odd, I think what is wrong with me. You doubt yourself and self believe. Luckily for me, these thoughts where more and alot when I was alot heavier in weight and now that I am getting and seeing the results from losing that weight,  I feel more confident and don`t notice if I get a stare.
More for me now, is not being in control of situations, which I have always had and also since paying bills etc, all the joys of being an adult, these can spark my anxiety, having enough money and not to struggle. The simple life, ehh?! Is it ever.!

Quote on mental health stigma: I fight for my health every day in ways most people don't understand. I'm not lazy. I'm a warrior. www.HealthyPlace.com

What I mean about being in control, example are people doing things for me, seeing the dentist or what I have been suffering with since I was small, is dieing! That one thought does get worse when I worry alot or spend to much time thinking in the negitive. It is a crazy panic attack that does scare me and something I have had since I was young, but never understood. And that is something that alot of people do not understand. We need to know how to read our own bodies, including our mental health. Creating that talking point where its okay to feel down and sad, when you feel like the world is falling in on you. But not to let it linger, taking action to fix and sort it that will suit you.
ITS OKAY NOT TO BE OKAY!

Anything can make anxiety happen. New experiences, new people, close spaces, bad events, a crowd, situations out of your control, general domestic worries the list is endless and unique to all sufferers. Each person has there own triggers.

What do I do to make myself calm and to relax?

-Talking! I find chatting to a friend/family, a GP or professional councilor does help let out them negative thoughts and gain tools to combat any panic or negative thoughts. After all "a problem shared". John (my boyfriend) is a great support to me and always knows how to relax me when I am anxious. Planning trips, meals, dates, or just sticking on a comedy. Its the little things.

- Music! Creating that playlist that makes you feel powerful and positive. I love Kelly Clarkson for days I need a little bit of girl power feeling. And dance songs when I need to just dance it out. Create songs that make you smile and take you back to great memories and times.

Quotes! Surrounding yourself in positive or funny quotes, so when your feel down or panicked that you are surrounded in good vibes and not negative vibes.

-Distraction! For me this is Candy Crush, as it really gets my head thinking and is a welcome distraction. I concentrate on it and not whats going on around me or what I am thinking. Great for on the go.

-Exercise! I love to just walk, even when I don`t feel like it. Because I know it will make a difference. Not only are you working them muscles but you are releasing good hormones that make you happy and I always feel refreshed and relaxed. Late evening walks, a shower and a cup of chamomile and I am out for the count, great way of tiring yourself out to just get that good night sleep.

-Meditation! Taking that 10mins or an hour, to breathe. Going to a room that is not cluttered from all the day to day stresses, closing your eyes and breathing and listening to soothing sounds, like rain or the ocean. Doing this will refresh you and also give you a clear mind. You can sit on the floor,or lye on the bed, your choice.

-Pamper! Set up an area where you can give yourself a full pamper session, pedi and manis, facial or face mask, a relaxing bath or shower , feet up with that girly dvd and pjs. Perfect to take time for YOU! Time to make yourself feel special and you will feel it from the inside out.

This post is to tell any of you that you are not alone, or weird or odd or crazy. It is just you. I watched Grace from FacesbyGrace23`s Youtube video on anxiety and something that really stood out to me is, that we just have to tell ourselves its okay to be this way, it is who we are and that it will be something that we will live with.
I think though it is so important to get young people talking and educate them on techniques and how to get them to express their feelings and thoughts, no matter who or what it is. Education is key. We have physical education in schools, why not mental education also.
We are battling ongoing obesity in Ireland, but Depression, Anxiety, Panic attacks and unfortunately Suicide are on the rise also. I think it is as important as our food problems. Young people dont`t have to tools, if they cannot get to a Gp or have no body to talk to, to deal with what they feel and think, so drinking, drugs and ending their lives, seems like their only way out. But if we talk more and make it more normal, it will make things and situations so much more positive.

If you feel lonely, feel like your feelings and thoughts are confusing to you or unbearable. Go and seek help! A friend, teacher, GP. Because it is more common in people than you think.
Place positive quotes around your room or house, funny quotes etc to make you smile when you feel down. Carry a game or create a playlist so if you are out and feel anxious that you can still combat your symptoms and relax.

Positive Quote: When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting and less sacry. www.HealthyPlace.com

I hope this post has helped someone out there or any of you that feel anxious.
Gaining a community of help and support is so important. So spread the word!

P.S LOVE THIS...Brush Cleaner

Hello Dolls,

I picked up this brush cleaner in February and have given this quiet a go for over a month now. For the price, I thought , sure why not! If you have not have guessed I picked up this brush cleaner in Pennys or Primark to all other EU readers! :D

I had spotted it on Instagram and thought okay, this could go really good or really wrong.

The brush cleaner is Alcohol based and is suitable for all synthetic and natural brush hairs.
The smell, is unoffensive to me, and is very similar to other brush cleaners I have used.

I do find that the brush cleaner is great on eye shadow brushes and any brushes that use powder. I did find that it did not work well with my foundation brushes. Which is okay for me, as if you are using colour or doing that smokey eye or bringing one or two brushes away it makes cleaning your shadow brushes easy. But you do need to deep clean them regularly, including your foundation brushes.
It is really handy for any makeup artist on the go, to have this cleaners and for the price it is great as a back up.

You can get this brush cleaner in Pennys/Primark for €2.50..Total Bargain!!

I would rate it 8.5 out of 10, because as a Makeup Artist I would need something a with a little more give on foundation brushes.

Have you bought this product? Do you like it?

Heres where else you can find me..

*Review: Eye of Horus Brow Define*

Hello Dolls,

I was so happy to receive another product from a PR company with the Eye of Horus product inside.

If you want to see my other review on the other Eye of Horus Products >CLICK HERE<

The product I received is the Brow Define, in the shade Dynasty.

The product is  double ended, with a spoolie at the end.

The definer is a slimline pointed retractable tip. The formula has Candelilia Oil and Coconut Oil, which allows it to stay put for the day. Along with Caster Oil to enhance brow growth.

My shade I choose from 3, was Dynasty a Medium Brown.

So what are my thoughts on this products??

I loved the colour, a cool toned brown which is perfect for my brows. The slim tip is ideal for shaping and defining perfectly. I use it to define the centre of my brows and get that angle I like and then feather it so they are natural looking. It is so important not to overdraw or make them look like I used a pencil or any product. I certainty noticed that the product did not move once bit. I love the added benefits of the oils as I know I am nourishing them aswell as defining them.

Will I use this again? Oh, ya I will! I have found a great benefit and change to my brow routine and its a welcomed item in my collection.

I done a scary thing this week, I uploaded a improm-tu  video. It is no way professional or perfect, but I wanted to bite the bullet and get one up and who knows I may add more ..:P Heres a demo using the Brow Define.

Review: * Water Wipes Facial Wipes*

Hello Dolls,

I was recently sent Water Wipes, from a PR company , to try out. I thought, I would share my honest thoughts and feedback on this product.

The Water Wipes I received where facial wipes. I had heard alot and seen alot over the internet and from friends who have children, that they love Water Wipes for their kids. Usually, I would not give "Facial Wipes" a look in, but as I have heard great things from the brand from mums, I thought I would review it and trial it for a few weeks.

So whats its background?..

Water wipes state that they are sensitive and natural face wipes. They work without drying your skin and can be used daily as a cleanser, with a guilt free feeling!

100% natural ingredients,
99.9% Ultra-purified water
0.1% Citrus Grapefruit Seed Extract-Citrus Grandis
Rich source of nutrients

Citrus Grandis peel has an enzyme called bromelain, which speeds up digestion of proteins, helps cleanse the skin and remove dead skin. It helps fight acne- clearing oil from skin balance pH.
Chinese grapefruit contains keretain that is proteing building.
Pummelo peel softens the skin.
Dead Sea Minerals act as a natural skin moisturiser and is suitable for sensitive skins.

It is free from Alcohol, Fragrance, Lanolin, Perfume, Colour, Oils etc..
It is Hypoallergenic and Dermatologically tested.

You can get Water Wipes from Dunnes Stores, Boots, Tescos and other pharmacies for €3.45.

So what are my thoughts??...

As a makeup artist I am set in my ways on what I think about face wipes. I would rather deep clean my skin. But if you work in theatre, need quick fix etc, sometimes you need a face wipe. I always have a pack when I need to clean up a mistake in makeup or take swatches off my hand.  So being sent Water Wipes, I thought okay, I am going to try these out.
The packaging was no different to any other wipes I have come across. The material is much thicker than normal wipes and does not feel as nasty or cheap like other wipes I have used, You can defiantly tell there are no lanolin in the wipes. There is no scent and it is, excuse the obvious, feels wet and moist.
I did use these on my face, for a few nights and I did find they took most of my makeup off, but I still felt like my skin wasnt 100% clean. Your skin is so important and is the base for perfect and flawless makeup. As a quick fresh for the skin during the day , like after the gym, a run, or when you are in theatre and need to take the makeup fast without water, I feel they are ideal. My skin wasnt dry or tight after them and I did find my skin moist. But using it as a daily cleanser I do not feel is ideal. I really think, no matter what skin type you are you need to follow the right steps and routines to keep it in good condition and wipes are not it.
However, I am not saying these are not a good product, anything that is good on childrens skin it usually ideal and friendly for ours, but I would in the future keep these for after a gym session/workout or cleaning up undereye mistakes when doing that smokey eye.
Maybe that is the makeup artist in me, but I do not hate these , but are not one that would be on my radar or a must have in my eyes in regarding skin care.

Disclaimer: I aim to give 100% on my reviews by products sent to me. So this is my 100% thoughts on this products.

Do you use face wipes? or Water Wipes?

Let me know your thoughts?

Review: Catrice Eye shadow Palette & Highlighter

Hello Dolls,

I decided on this lovely Sunday, I would do a  review on products that I have been trying lately, that I bought from Pennys/Primark in February.

I chose an Eye shadow palette and Highlighter from Catrice. I love alot of Catrice products from eyeliners, lip pencils and lipsticks, I do have an extensive collection. For the price, the quality of the products are amazing.

So at the start of February I was looking for colours to go with a dress I wanted for a GAA Dinner Dance I was attending with my boyfriend. I fell in love with the colours and reminded me of some of the colours from the Naked 3 Palette and some MAC shadows.

Catrice Absolute Rose Palette: 010 Frankie Rose to Hollywood

The palette has 6 rose toned shades. From rose to rose gold, in 3 mattes and 3 pearl shades. Shades are from a light rose colour to deep plum with some rose gold flecks. The colours I have been using alot are the last 3 in the palette.  Shade 3 reminds me of MAC Satin Taupe, which is a pearl shade, the next is a matte taupe with a rose tone, which is great in the crease, kind of like MAC Quarry and finally the plum shade with rose flecks in it and gorgeous on.
I got this palette in Pennys/Primark for €4.99, which I found a great price and the quality is great. I already have the Nude version of this palette and for traveling or that last minute look for a night out, this is perfect for the handbag or traveling. You can go natural or smokey eyed. The only let down of the palette and this goes without saying for alot of palettes like these are the applicators, I did not like it at all and have not intention of using it either. I would give it 9/10. And recommend these palettes.

Pure Shimmer Highlighter:

I have seen and heard so much about this highlighter online even before it was released. My thoughts where that it would be released in March and to my surprise the end of February I came across the Limited Collection " Nude Purism". So you can imagine I grabbed one in my local Pennys/Primark before they where going to sell out, and I can tell you once I announced I got one on Facebook, they had sold the next day. But I am glad to see they are back in the store. The highlighter itself has been described as a dupe for The Balm`s Mary Lou-Maniser. I myself have not tried Mary Lou yet so I cannot give my honest opinion on that. The highlighter itself is great value for the money and again a great makeup bag staple. At €4.59 where can you go wrong, The highlighter has a 3D structure and honeycomb effect. The texture is soft and silky and has fine graded nude and light reflects. I do find that because I am fair skined I really had to build this up alot to see any effect, also the honeycomb effect, even though lovely, does effect the amount I can on my brush. I think this would suit anyone with darker skin tones or tanned, the colour is a beautiful champagne and defiantly has a glow about it. I would give this 9/10 as I do feel like I need to build it up alot for myself.

I do love  Catrice and I feel like the value again is great for the price. If you have any questions or have any other products you want me to try please let me know.

Where can you find me?

Lifestyle: Herbal Teas

Hello Dolls,

I am sorry for the lack of posts these last weeks, been taking some ME time and time with family and non internet time. Zone out for a bit.  And have been making plans and ideas for months to come.

So I kinda fell on and off the wagon regarding the healthy train! You know the deal, one week I lose and the next I gain! Stuck on a roundabout I cant get off.  So I have been really getting into Herbal Teas and looking at what the benefits are and what I put into my body. Education on healthy food etc, is so important weather you try education yourself or go and get education from pros. I am no means a dietitian or a nutritionist but I am interested on what foods can do for us and aid us.

I don`t coffee, but I love a good ole`cuppa. But at times I just want a change or find I drink way to much. So here is some teas I love and benefits for your body. There are so many "CULT" herbal teas for eg: weight loss, that may contain extras like laxatives. Which can just upset your system. Taking a standard herbal tea from your health food or local store can just be as adding if not more.

*Again I must warn I am no Professional, I love looking at food and ingredients and what they do, so this is what I like and my research on each. If you are allergic to any of these or have any conditions, please consult you GP*

Pepper Mint Tea:  Not really a huge fan of peppermint or tea, but its benefits really help. If you have digestion problems, tummy problems, IBS then this will really aid you. I find it great when I feel "FULL UP".

Chamomile:  This one I drink alot and love. Great when you need to unwind or relax. Ideal before bed, to calm nerves, stress and anxiety, I suffer from all at time to time and this really helps. Caffeine can heighten the nerves etc and chamomile is great to relieve and allow you to relax.

Green Tea: This probably the most common of all herbal teas. You can get all different variations like with lemon, orange etc. But you can also get the original blend. I am currently drinking the original and green tea with lemon and love. Green tea is suppose to help reduce inflammation and boost the metabolism. A great one if you are trying to get healthy as it will add your weight loss from helping your metabolism.

Lavender: Another well know one. Not only is the smell great but I can help you with de-stressing, soothe and treat flatulence, colic, an upset stomach, reduce coughing and help aid asthma and other respiratory conditions. I have asthma and when I have allergies and get stressed up and my breathing is bad, I like this it will relax me and help my breathing.

Pu-erh Tea: This is another one I like to use. Benefits are that is helps reduce cholesterol, reduces LDL and helps create a balanced lifestyle, which aids weight loss.

They are just some of my well used teas with benefits. Herbal teas are also a great way in upping your water intake, especially if you are not fond of water or find drinking 2L is hell.
Some fun ones and combos I also love for those evenings in or want something different are:

-Twinings Black Tea with Apple Cinnamon and Raisin Tea
- Twinings Black Tea with Vanilla
-Twinings Ginger and Rhubarb
-Twinings Blackcurrant and Vanilla
-Pukka Vanilla Chai
-Pukka Wild Apple and Vanilla

I love Twinings and Pukka and some Lidl teas, but you get what brand you love,

(All above pictures are from google search )

I would love to hear what teas you like and what ones you think I should try.

If you like this post please let me know and if you want to see more.
